One other item of note from the MLS preview: "The Union may be in good form, but they'll be facing a real bogeyman in the Rapids. Philadelphia have won just once in nine all-time meetings with the Rapids, and never at Talen Energy Stadium." - Overall: Philadelphia 1 win (11 goals) … Colorado 3 wins (15 goals) … Ties 5 - At Philadelphia: Philadelphia 0 wins (6 goals) … Colorado 2 wins (8 goals) … Ties 3
I thought this was going to be a relegation battle but I see the Union are way ahead of the Rapids. In fact, there are 3 teams averaging less than a point/game entering this weekend, and they're all in the Western Conference: RSL (0.92), Seattle (0.91), Rapids (0.7). Huh, that's weird. The Rapids have 5 losses in 5 road games so far with an amazing 1 goal and 10 goals allowed, so something's gotta give there.
Philadelphia are on a 3-0-1 run with four straight clean sheets. The Rapids can't score. What could possibly go wrong?
So the last time I promised a 2-0 we won 3-0. So to avoid jinxing the 'Peds, I will predict a 2-0 win and send a Colombian in a Valderrama wig to the game ("hey, they may wear their Colombian yellow away jersey!"). R
I'd like to see their stadium, it always looks cool on TV with the river next to it. Speaking of TV, the game is in English, so I predict doom for the Rapids, 2-0 loss.
2-0 loss. Prove me wrong Rapids. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2017/05/rapids-hope-to-split-union.html
What the. Granted, the group that played in Chicago wasn't good. But noobs down the right and 3 total in key defensive roles; guy just off the DL as the leader on the backline.
Yes. I hope they function well enough for a group for him to get some meaningful touches. Has Da Fonte played yet?
Either something crazy happens and we get a 1-0 win or we play like a bunch of guys that don't know how to work together and lose 4-0.
I wonder how much the lineup changes are due to this being the 3rd match in 3 different cities in 8 days.
