The de facto UEFA primaries will be fascinating - IMO the UK bid has a better chance at the FIFA elections than an Iberian one, but I don't see any such advantage at the continent level. Who knows, some UEFA members may even relish the chance to give the UK a kick up the backside over Brexit...

It would be great for world football if 2030 WC goes to Asia.

Conmebol gave away its opportunity to host its South American Centenary in exchange for money.

Now Conmebol wants 2030 WC because of another Centenary.
Throw some money at Conmebol and they will accept a WC in Oceania.

Well, splitting all of 10 votes isn't that big an issue :D

Nevertheless, this would almost certainly lead to a de facto primary in Conmebol to decide on only one South American bid, so that Conmebol could then wheel and deal in favor of said bid instead of having to split its loyalties - or neglect one entirely and risk enduring bad blood.

In all honesty, an Andean bid up against a Southern Cone one is a non-starter. Conmebol is based in Paraguay with a Paraguayan president - CHUPAR is going to be Conmebol's 2030 bid sí o sí.

That is weird. I have not heard any rumor about that in Colombian media or the forum.
