I just don't see two stadiums being selected in Florida, though it's certainly possible. My opinion is you're putting too much weight on the sun shade cover in Miami too, as well as hotel room quantities. The other cities have plenty of hotel rooms; it's not a big issue in my opinion. There are other bigger considerations. In my frequent international travels I have heard many people who want to go to Vegas or have gone to Vegas when they visit the US, not Orlando. Vegas seems like a more popular destination for the World Cup traveler. Orlando has the Disney stuff. Vegas is Vegas and it's unique. I'm not saying that this entertainment aspect is a major driving factor either, thought it will certainly be in both cities' pitches to the selection committee. But I'll guess we'll see in due time.

Orlando is the bigger tourist destination.

Ok, I'll give you that and after thinking about it more, will even say that Orlando should be a strong candidate for the venue in the southeast. But for the World Cup traveler, I'm not sure it's a more popular destination than Vegas. I know there's more to Orlando than the Disney/family/kids stuff, but the number of families that go there make up a lot of those tourist numbers. I know families go to World Cup too, so it probably is a frontrunner city because of that. I actually lived in Orlando, and have nothing against it. It's just not really a place I want to visit for fun now. Whereas I love visiting Vegas. So that's where my bias came from.

Since a bunch of stadiums will get chosen maybe they both get chosen. I think there are factors we aren't really knowledgable about, especially the financial ones. That is, how much money can the organizers make and how sweet a deal can each venue put together for the tournament. There might be some venues chosen or left out that will surprise us due to those financial/cost factors.

I love Orlando and Tampa but I believe only one Florida city will be chosen and it's going to be Miami.

Donna Shalala used to be President at the University of Miami and is a key figure on the US/Mex/Can bid committee.
I don't want to say that Miami is a "slam dunk" but I wouldn't bet against it.

these are the kind of things a lot of us don't know about that can be big factors in these decisions. We like to sit back without this insiders knowledge and just pick the most logical venues based on geography, stadium characteristics and maybe how much of a tourist destination the city is. These other factors are huge too along with the financial considerations that we don't know about.

yepp, these behind the scenes stories always mean a lot. simmilar with robert kraft, the only reason why his unreachable stadium at the end of the world will certainly get selected ...etc

so no further cuts before bid submission in march, and even than final decission on hosts few years away. interesting! same as the fact that domed stadiums without retractable roof obviously have very little chance, but inglewood is favourite for the final :D

According to this article 2026 FIFA world cup will have 12 to 16 venues, that is very little to divide between these 3 huge countries.
So far we know Mexico confirmed 3 : Monterrey , Guadalajara and Mexico City
Canada 2-3 cities , let 's say 2 : Montreal and Toronto. Then USA would have 7-11 venues.
The organizing committee should put the teams to play in nearby areas to prevent teams and their fans from traveling great distances.
I just can´t imagine how they would organize it ... I suppose it will be some groups on the east coast, others in Florida, others in California and Seattle (East Coast), Other in Texas .... and another somewhere in the middle of the USA.

If you were part of the organizing committee, how would you distribute the 16 groups ? and which cities would you choose?

Excellent distribution by geographical areas. The only thing is that 10 games will be played in Canada and all will be in the first round. You posted only 7.

Hmm. Good point. I will change it to this then:

    Group A (Mexico Group)
    Azteca, Guadalajara, Monterrey.
    Group B (USA Group)
    Washington, Chicago, Seattle
    Group C (Canada Group)
    Montreal, Toronto, Toronto
    Group D Miami, Atlanta, Houston
Group E Boston, New York, Washington
    Group F Houston, Dallas, Monterrey
Group G Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle
    Group H Monterrey, Guadalajara, Azteca
Group I Boston, New York, Montreal
    Group J Montreal, Toronto, Montreal
    Group K Miami, Atlanta, Dallas
Group L Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles
    Group M Guadalajara, Azteca, Monterrey
Group N Washington, Boston , New York
    Group O Toronto, Toronto, Montreal
    Group P Dallas, Houston, Atlanta

Chicago will get a Round of 32, Quarter-Final and the Third Place match to make up for their lack of Group matches.

Its funny that the USA will only have two group matches, so one of those cities in Group B is not hosting the US, but rather two random teams. Not impossible that one or more of the hosts go home after two games, but not likely given that they'll be seeded.

I began to read FIFA's guidelines for the 2026 World Cup.

    http://www.fifa.com/about-fifa/official-documents/index.html

    It'll be asked:
72 Team Base Camp Hotels (5* or 4*)
72 Team Base Camp Training Facility
More than 8,000 romms for the Final
    And many other...

    Have a good reading.

I expect the United Bid Logo will change to meet FIFA's logo guideline.

The Bid Logo will surely be unveiled after November 30, 2017.

I thought the US was getting QF to Final, which left the door open for a Canadian city to potentially get a knockout...?

Cities bidding to host World Cup 2026 games will make presentations in Houston

    https://www.socceramerica.com/publi...ding-to-host-world-cup-2026-games-will-m.html

FIFA accepts also 2 to 4 additional stadiums in the bid.

We can almost see the United Bid logo, even if it's small.
I like the slogan: United as One

In the case the United Bid succed, I expect the official logo will be composed of the FIFA World Cup trophy, with the following colors: red, green, blue and white.
