The USWNT thought they were going through a Golden Era with Morgan, Press, and Leroux slicing & dicing through foreign defenses. But is that the Golden Era? is that the real Gold Standard?

Who do you think will be the best strikers/attackers of the future after they (along with Lloyd) are gone?

Could the new upcoming crop of phenom wonders be even better?

Yes, the kids will be better ...
... because they grew up watching Morgan/Press/Leroux play.

(and they bounce up and down on their sofas and say "I could do that" :D)

We can't answer until the new contract is signed. We're not sure when there will be a next crop.

I like Kuhlmann. Sanchez looks good, but I have the feeling she might fade against better opposition. Kealia Ohai will be the next striker to impress us. Time will tell; and, it will be fun watching!

The first Movement Groovement Rankings are out, in ranking the future forwards/attacking prospects 4 USWNT.
This ranking can shift over time. But this is where they stand as of today.
This list excludes Mallory Pugh, or anyone who has already been "capped" by the senior national team.

*List only includes true strikers, or outside mids who are capable of playing forward for the USWNT

    1.) Ashley Sanchez

    2.) Kealia Ohai

    3.) Ashley Hatch

    4.) Savannah Jordan

    5.) Shea Groom

    6.) Lynn Williams

I think Press is the best striker in the country and will be through the next olympics. I hope she is given the starting spot or at least more minutes here on out.

Press is truly exceptional. Sometimes. She must solve her inconsistencies in order to get up to the required level.

Learning to hit the ball on frame in international matches would be a good start.

    Good old Summer Green.
She was supposed to be the next big time goal scorer.
And then she got stopped in her tracks against elite competition at the 2012 U-17 World Cup.
They weren't playing Bahamas no more. They were playing France and North Korea.

She had a decent career in college, but wasn't exactly the 5-star recruit she was supposed to be.
More like 4.25 stars, but she still got drafted (late) because you might as well spend a late draft pick on her.
She can still be a solid player in NWSL, but don't expect her to be on the USWNT.
Kealia Ohai, Lynn Williams, Ashley Hatch, Shea Groom, Ashley Sanchez, and Savannah Jordan have passed her by.

But hopefully she makes a comeback in playing for a professional league, preferably NWSL.

How often does that happen that a kid is completely overhyped at that age?

You wouldn't be referring to Top Drawer Soccer's player ratings, by any chance?:)

You have to admit, no one looked better against the doormats from CONCACAF than she did.
She could score like 7 goals against the likes of Guyana, Bahamas, Haiti, and Guatemala.
It's a shame she never got a chance to play against the banshees from Martinique.

I think they outscored their CONCACAF competition like 41-0.
And Summer Green had about half of those goals, lol.
