    The Dick is........not crowded.

The Rapids way comes to fruition, from a former player that told others he never cared to watch soccer.

Hm. Just saw a live clip on the ESPN+ feed and looks like a Casey has adopted the hudson and maestroeni “furious gum chew” technique of coaching.

    Sign of things to come?

Let’s go rapids. Get 3 points tonight. 3-1 Rapids. Goal by Nico after a sub in, and 2 by Kamara

The first minute looked better than almost any Hudson minute.

It’s almost as if going with a 3 man backline for the worst defensive team in the league wasn’t a great call.

Two Sjoberg walkabouts, two gaping holes, two predictable results.

If you can't beat them from the run of play, there's always the PK

    Goal #7 for Kamara.

That is a great way to commit a foul.

Push your own player into the other team. No one can ever get a yellow

Bodmer Line: 41/24 = 1.708 PPG (points needed to snag last playoff spot at 43 point average divided by games remaining)

Kroenke Line: 1.000 PPG (maximum points that can be earned to win the average Wooden Spoon at just over 26 points)
    Rapids: 2 points = 24/24=1.000 PPG

Hudson Line: = 0.542 PPG (13 points or less in 24 remaining matches).
PPG needed to become the worst team in MLS history. The current record is 16 points, held by D.C. United (3-24-7 in 2013).

Rapids: 0-8-2, 2 points in 10 matches = 0.200 PPG, on pace for 7 points for the season.

EDIT: The Rapids are on pace to surrender 92 goals this season. The MLS record is 74 (Orlando City, 2018). The Rapids are five points to the good in the race for the Wooden Spoon.

Gaping holes on the back line. Check.
    Wimpy crosses to nobody. Check.
    Stupid red card. Check.
    Another loss. Check.

That said, the Rapids took the attack to somebody, and that was refreshing. Yes, the goals came on PKs, but the PKs were hard fought and well earned. Passing was better, especially in the offensive third. The Rapids came from behind to level, and might have held on but for Rubio's dumb RC. This one had a bit of a different feel.

Casey gets a Mulligan for this match. He had very little time to prepare for it. It will be interesting to see what he does to prepare the players for the Rocky Mountain Cup match next week.

Next week is the last game in the "easy" part of the schedule. Things get much tougher from there. The Rapids start playing teams that are near the top of the table, that are scoring gobs of goals, and that are playing at home. (Six teams in the West haven't lost a home match, and a seventh hasn't played a home match yet.) A 0.200 PPG pace now doesn't inspire hope for the tougher schedule ahead. For the first time, I'm actually starting to think that DC United's horrendous 2013 record is in real jeopardy.

The back line doesn't need a makeover. It needs a wrecking ball. Nothing will improve until the Rapids stop the bleeding. The problem is that the roster is filled with players nobody wants and nobody will take. If the Rapids want to fix the back line, they will have to cough up the players they need to survive. I don't see that happening. A whole lot of ugly's going to happen before this season eventually ends. The rebuild won't take place until the next offseason. That probably means Casey's on the hook for rest of this season with little wiggle room. When the contracts expire for some of the unwanted players, there will be roster and cap space to go shopping, but that assumes the good players (Kamara in particular) will stick around. If that doesn't happen, Katie bar the door.

One more depressing stat. The Bodmer Line currently is 1.708 PPG. The best season in Rapids history was 1.706 PPG, in 2016.

BTW we played the 2016 season at 1.706 PPG. Using the same measure I used last season when the Bodmer Line surpassed that number I'm declaring this season officially over. A month earlier than last year.

Sure, as part of their job. Like, they go to the office (stadium/arena) and put in their work hours (training) part of which is watching videos.

I'm guessing less of them go home and do the same thing than you think do.
