dame this was a good site do we know why its no more or are they coming back under a new name http://www.portuguesesoccer.com/
That really sucks. This was always my first (english) Portuguese soccer website to go to. Wonder what the story is as to why its shutting down.
This is what the site currently says: "Thanks for visiting this website. It has been a pleasure to help bring more attention to Portugal and soccer. However, as of this today, this website is now forever closed, e-mail account deleted and domains already sold (not to a soccer website). There are no plans to bring this website back in any form. Please keep supporting Portugal in your life. (This page will be automatically deleted in a few hours) "
I got legitimately sad when I read that today. I've been on going on that website daily since I was a little kid and when I saw that... well, there went a piece of my footballing childhood. RIP Portuguesesoccer.com lol
good times through all the highs and lows of being a fan of portuguese football, thanks for all the memories
That sucks. The owner should have contacted me, I would have bought the domain and kept it going. Shame.
This. I never really found out about portuguesesoccer.com until after I was in the habit of updating via portugoal.net. so never really got stuck with it but it's sad to see any Portuguese soccer site close. We can use all the international exposure we can get, it's nothing but good for portuguese soccer! Once you get over the fact that it's 3 Brits that are running the show over at portugoal.net, they are very good at keeping up to date with transfer rumours, players abroad, even players you forgot about or didn't even know were still playing. They're quite thorough. Anyone looking for a replacement to portuguesesoccer.com should def. check out portugoal.net They're on twitter too if you prefer (my info source of choice)
I'll be honest, that website kind of sucked. It was updated at the end of the day, MAYBE. A lot of the news was old, especially if you can read Portuguese and have internet access to Record, Ojogo and Abola. Speaking of which, I'm thinking of lobbying Record for an English version... What do you guys think?
As of lately , the site was getting too slow to update, other matters in the owner's mind I guess, too bad all in all that it closed.
psoccer.com has been my homepage at work and at home for many years. I'm so sad that it's gone. I don't think a day went by when I didn't see that site. If the person that ran that site is out there somewhere.... Muito obrigado!!!!
I used to go there all the time for my Portuguese soccer news. I was pretty sad and shocked when I went to the front page and saw that message. Sucks
Wow. I have been going to that site since the 90s. At one time, there was even a "forum" where you can comment on articles. Sad to see it go but I haven't been on that site in a while and it needed some updating.
I know seems like it was a long time ago. Still remember going on Yahoo chat, soccer section just to talk to other portuguese people about soccer back in 95/96. Stupid 14.4 modem chugging away while getting disconnected by someone calling the house
They would keep the Portuguese version, but would have an added option to use English for those that can't read in Portuguese.
bit of a shame. This site was the first and only site I used to check for regular Portuguese soccer news. Although I think he was benfiquista, the site owner staved away from choosing allegiances or letting a bias be known on his site.
