that's where he will be for most of the season IMO.

He just doesn't have the skills needed to be world class.

Aaaaaaand Gelson Martins plays 0 of a possible 120 minutes for Atletico against Real. The new normal for young, big money Portuguese transfers, I guess.

It was the first game in a new team Christ calm down. Simeone is hardly someone who throws players in straight away

I didn’t think Atletico was a great fit in the first place and he didn’t see the field in a match when 15 guys did, including two right wingers. And he’s not a teenager, he’s 23, which means he should be entering his prime.

Kinda hard to take that step if relegated to the bench regardless of how good your team and teammates may be.

He won't get minutes over Lemar. Period. Lemar was the best player in the pitch that day

Andre Silva scored twice in the first half against Ray Vallecano. Thank goodness he got out of Milan (hopefully forever).

I wish all Portuguese players would just come to the conclusion that playing in Italy is a terrible idea. Few exceptions I know, but mostly it's detrimental to Portuguese players.

AC Milan is a mess right now. Andre would of worked out if they were a stable team like back in the 90s.

It can take a while if you research it, but basically the percentage rate of Portuguese players having success in Italy is lower than that of England, Spain or France, not sure about Germany. It's bordering on a miracle that Mario Rui even had moderate success there. Figo, Andrade and Rui Costa are anomalies.

Yes probably, but also if the 2 Managers had a bit more vision and patience also.

Gelson entered in the 72nd minute against Valencia today and apparently played pretty well, or at least looked dangerous.

Yeah, they kept starting him in Europa league games and then on the bench for league games. sometimes they would throw him on with 10 minutes to go when down by one or two.

Yeah, I also remember a game in which he scored the winner with a header in injury time, off a set piece after coming on late. Gattuso praised him and gave him the start the next game. That game he didn't score and back to the bench he went. I'm not a professional football manager, but come on! you have to show more patience than that with young players that show potential.

Andre Silva came off the bench in Sevilla's 1-0 win over Sigma Olomouc and provided the winning assist. He entered in the 66th and won it in the 84th by slipping a nice little pass through the retreating defense on a counter, which Pablo Sarabia finished with one touch.

In addition to this I’ve been speaking to Watford fans today and they said he was the best player on the pitch.

West Ham will regret letting him go for 1 million when they had teams like Barca sniffing around!

Renato Sanches is starting against Benfica is Lisbon today. That's a big one.

Also, Diogo Dalot is starting for Man U against Young Boys.

Cancelo is a beast! I told you his versatility would benefit Portugal. He's growing as a player, seems confident.

To date his transfer has been a disaster. He's appeared in 3 out of 9 matches and played a total of 57 minutes. Will he reach 100 by Christmas?
