Big test with one of the favorites and neighbors. In the last WC we faced one of the favorites and eventual winners Germany in a dreadful game with Pepe being sent off, Fabio being hurt and a dodgy pk for Germany to start our demise. Ultimately it was the goal difference in that game that cost us advancement.

Unlike that tournament the next 2 opponents this year do not pose the threat of the likes of USA or Ghana, although you can't take anybody lightly anymore.

Have to believe Santos goes conservative here to at the very worst lose by a slim margin with the goal obviously to be a win or draw.

I definitely believe this years group is much more challenging then the group we had in WC 14.

I also agree with you.. Santos will be on the conservative side, but, not with the worry about keeping the goal difference down.. i think it would be considered a success if we leave that game with 1 point, ultimately wantin the 3 ofcourse.

Does anyone else remember when the pride march and Portuguese fans clashed in the GTA a few tournaments back, was pretty lulz.

No, i dont remember this at all.

What are you talking about exactly by clash?

The pride parade doesnt start that far over west does it? the Portuguese are either up on St.Clair.. down on College (altho not so much over the years) and on Dundas, but between Dufferin/Lansdowne..

I'm pumped. Playing them first is a huge adv, they won't see us coming. BOOM!

I'm back in Canada for the summer, hanging out with the usual posters here in T.dot, should be fun.

Z, where u at puta?! DM me.

Can’t believe Lopetegui would be stupid enough to allow this to be announced at this point, I mean how have you been negotiating with Real Madrid while coaching the national team. What a load of nonsense

We are in a really tough position if we lose.

Gotta break down two teams that don't concede in the next two games which is our achilles heel. Morocco is a real threat to make us pay if we chase the points really hard against them. I think a point from Spain, a point from Morocco, and a win against Iran is our ideal realistic scenario provided that we ramp up a few goals against Iran.

Morocco are African champions, right? Looking at their record, they are undefeated for about a year; which included 4-0 thrashing of Nigeria, 3-1 over Egypt and several good results against European teams. Morocco will absolutely be a tough game.

Which is why we cannot afford to lose against Spain. It's imperative. That result will decide the group in my opinion.

Again. lets all stop putting the cart before the horse. You people learn nothing.

Also, I think Z earned himself a perma-ban. From what I can tell, not sure. But if in fact he is done for good, all I can say is he had plenty of help, advise and warnings but you can't help the ignorant.

Besides Spain it's liek our Euro 2016 group on paper they should be easy but in reality these teams can play, fight and have nothing to lose against us or Spain.

We better be mentally better prepared than the Euro or last WC otherwise what looks promising will blow up fast and the worst part is every pundit will be proven right about us.

Anybody want to remind CR7 that his new coach said this a few months ago? You know what CR7 does to coaches that say this sort of thing......

    That's fake.

Lopetegui is a MENDES coach and he would never say that

I hope it doesn’t effect our own preparation or state of mind as far as facing them in the opener. Still a huge mountain. Still needs a concerted and professional effort.
