That is true but even if that is the case, S. Korea has a positive GD of 8. Good chance all they need is a tie and they get first place. I see German scoring at least 7 goals against poor Fiji thus getting a better goal differential than Mexico. Thats how I see it going down but you are correct. The ball is round and much can happen.

Agreed, Korea - Mexico are 0-0 and Germany 8 Fiji 0 at the moment, so as it stands Germany will finish 1st and Korea 2nd on goal difference.

 Germany 10 Fiji 0 BUT Korea 1 Mexico 0 so we are playing Germany atm and need a Mexico goal to face S. Korea.

The Koreans are time wasting like crazy. Looks like our "C" team will take on Germany's "B" team

One of the doumbest red crad I have ever seen. I would have tossed out the Korean coach and yellowed the Korean who refused to give the ball instead of giving a red to the Mexican for trying to take the ball for a free kick. Also the Koreans at 90 minutes took 2 minutes to get a player off the field for an "injury"plus the 30 seconds that Korean and his coach took to give Mexico back their free kick and the ref gave a minute and 20 seconds to compensate. Pathetic referee. I would have loved to face these South Korean cowards.

Did you watch them against South Korea or Mexico? Don't look very good to me, but not like we brought a great team anyway. I think Germany looked the third best team in their group.

Anybody can look crazy good against Fiji. And i mean that. I'd rather face Germany to be honest.

That's true.. but they also made Fiji look like a team with no outfielders and just a goalie lol.. Neither Mexico or South Korea did that well against them. Buuuut on the other hand Germany did not do so well against the Mexicans or South Koreans. Well, I guess only time will tell. I have faith in our team we played very well.

Germany brought a pretty solid team: Sule, Brandt, Meyer, the Bender brothers, Horn, Selke...

    Damn.

    Toughest team in the competition.

The difficult thing about Germany is that we brought a pretty talented team IMO, but we have had only one week or so's worth of preparation with a pretty unfamiliar group. A cohesive, efficient team could probably knock us out. I haven't seen any of Portugal so far, but I've heard they're impressive. Anyone care to fill me in a bit on key players, style of play, etc. we can expect from Portugal?

The thread is spot on so far I think. You should be able to get a pretty good idea of the team if you read these posts.

Imagine if we win gold or even medal.

Salvador Agra and Andre Martins the protagonists to the gold medal the irony in that statement

Some good youngsters like Paulo Henrique of Paços de Ferreira I have high hopes for him almost didn't get called up only did due to all the clubs of other players saying no to releasing players. I like PH an Açoriano and a Santa Clara youth player.

In my opinion this team has done extremely well considering outside of Bruno Fernandes none of these guys could make our C squad let alone our A or B squad.

Good thing about this tournament is that is has reignited the career of Gonçalo Paciência (Porto look likely to keep him) and André Martins (who just signed for Olymipiakos CFP.

My favorites are Nigeria though they have so much firepower

Hope Portugal win and troll the Olympics

Selke from Germany just had an unbelievable miss. Germany is more threatening.

    Germany 1 Portugal 0 HT.

Germany the better side but have failings in defence, uphill struggle now.

The corner that led to the 2nd goal could have been avoided. The defenceman did great to hustle back but then instead of kicking it out on the sidelines, tried to keep the ball in play....
