Is this how you have done it in the past? No new thread for the 2nd leg? Since Klopp is undefeated in two legged ties, I don’t think we should be changing anything.
I wouldn’t be surprised if there are a few changes from the weekend. I think Gini will come into midfield. I could see Lovren giving Matip a rest and maybe Milner at right back.
I think we're likely to see Lovren, Gini, Milner, and one of Origi/Shaqiri come in for this - it's the only chance to 'rest' some players we'll likely have the rest of the way.
Lovren didn't travel due to illness. I've seen the take on resting people in this game going around and I'm not sure it's 1) necessary or 2) the game to do it if needed. The least amount of days we have between games right now is 4, which gives everyone that extra recovery day. Its possible we have would have a short turnaround between Newcastle and the second leg with Barca at home. We also had 2 long breaks in the winter. Now is where we will see the benefits of that. Our next 3 league games are Cardiff, Huddersfield and Newcastle. If someone needs a break, we should have more than enough scope in those games to make a few changes. We should start as strong as possible, then Shaq and Origi can have a run. We just need to score and then they need 4 to go through. When was the last time we gave up that many?
Yes, both games were great but the Chelsea game was on another level. I've been to 3 games at Anfield now and we've won all 3 with a combined score of 6-1. Guess I need to go back more often.
Liverpool: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Wijnaldum, Mane, Salah, Origi. Subs: Mignolet, Keita, Firmino, Gomez, Henderson, Sturridge, Shaqiri.
Wow Divock! I didn't even notice that at first, didn't bother to look at front 3. What a vote of confidence, hope he does well. Nice for Bobby to rest, also.
Milner and Gini in definitely looks like a move to snuff out Porto's service, and if they press Divock has the wheels to make them pay on the counter.
