I don't think you can be certain Toronto's poor form this season was predestined by their CCL run. Other clubs seem to do just fine in simultaneous CCL & MLS campaigns...Seattle & RBNJ had good CCL runs this spring and are now in good positions in the league, and in 2015 Montreal made the CCL finals and finished 3rd in the East.
It would be fun if we got one of the more popular Mexican teams and they took over the stadium like the Chivas friendly in 2010.
What could be better than even more Union induced angst? CCL = more footy = more angst = more ennui on Bigsoccer.com It's a win-win-win-win situation.
IDK. I just like watching my team play. The "I don't want me team to win now because they might get embarrassed later" doesn't really make sense to me.
because our regular season campaign is soooooo valuable..... this is crazy thinking, I'd trade places with Toronto in a heartbeat. They lost the CCL Final on PKs. They'll be back in action next year. TFC also had zero break for nearly 2+ years... their time line has been nuts. 2016 MLS Season starting in March>2016 MLS Cup in December> 2017 MLS season in March > 2017 MLS Cup December > 2018 CCL February > Present Day 100% this... the Union playing some new and interesting teams in a competitive environment? I'm salivating at the mouth.. shit, I was excited to see the Richmond Kickers come through in Open Cup this year. Getting ahead of ourselves, but for what it's worth a Round 1 opponent would be one of the following: Toronto (Canada) Saprissa (Costa Rica) Alianza (El Salvador) Guastatoya (Guatemala) Marathon (Honduras) Independiente (Panama) Atletico Pantoja (Dominican Republic) Qualifier Winner (Herediano (CRC), Arabe Unido (PAN), Tauro (PAN), Motagua (HON))
You mean our strategic partnership with Saprissa didn't produce any commemorative scarfs already? i miss u Josue....
