This is a game in the Knockout Round of the MLS playoffs. If the score is level after 90 minutes they will play overtime and then a shootout if the score is still level.

The Dynamo and Kansas City played twice this year in league action with both games in October. The Dynamo won, 2-1, at home on October 11 and then drew, 0-0, in Kansas City on October 15. The teams did also play in Houston in the U.S. Open Cup in June with Kansas City winning 0-2. The teams have met in the MLS playoffs six times overall with Houston winning 3, drawing 1, and losing 2. The Dynamo have not lost a home playoff game to KC.

Sporting Kansas City's most recent game was a 2-1 road loss to Real Salt Lake on October 22. SKC is 0-3-2 in their last five league games scoring 3 goals and allowing 6. They have not won a game since September 24 when they hosted LA Galaxy. This year KC was 2-8-7 in road league games. They haven't won a road game since June 24 also against the LA Galaxy.

The Dynamo are 3-0-2 over the last five league games scoring 10 goals and allowing 5. The current undefeated streak is at 6 games in league play. Houston is 12-1-4 in home league games this year outscoring opponents, 43 to 17.

The winner of this single game knockout advances to play either Portland or Seattle in the Western Conference Semifinals which start on October 29.

Let the flopping and whinning begin. PRO should issue tasers to keep SKC off the refs.

Did anyone witness Haywards injury in opening night of NBA basketball, he plays for the Boston Celtics. He snapped his ankle raw! AJ's knee tear was from jumping and then landing. Get these modern athletes some milk!

    Cannot wait to Thursday night!

Anyone else besides me think attendance is going to be really poor for this game? Sort of a late weeknight start time in a week of Astros fever

It will be the let down you speak of or the city, ripe for some playoff enjoyment post Harvey, the soccer faithful and others looking for a good time just might look forward to the cooler temps and a home town playoff battle versus old rivals Kansas City.

Game will not sell out, unfortunately. Predicting 17,000...hopefully.

Too much Astros excitement and fans will probably be looking for a nights sports (baseball) break while the Astros and Dodgers travel on Thursday.

I'm just surprised the MLS/Dynmao Front Office didn't try to put this game on the same night as an Astros home game.

I've seen Hayward's injury quite a bit in rugby. When the tibia breaks, the foot sometimes dislocates. It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt, and then it's hilarious.

So we go from close to 70000 in one game to a gathering of family and friends, MLS has to be one of the only leagues compared to the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL where you see empty stadiums in the playoffs you hardly see empty stadiums in these other leagues for playoff games but you do in the MLS, I’ll bet you if Houston had an NHL team and were playing say a playoff game during a Houston NBA finals run you would see a sold out Arena no excuses , but in the MLS teams that don’t draw well always have excuses, maybe in the end it’s simply that not as much people care to come out as simple as that.

Geiger is going let someone get murdered with no call and then red card someone for time wasting.

There are a number of factors, can be discussed later but the situation tonight overall is a culmination of years of poor FO cultivation of fans and the product on the field
