I know there tends to be some overlap with the Gringos thread, but the purpose of this thread is to solely focus on the performance of Brazilians who are plying their trade overseas.
Is Bernard going to finally transfer out of Ukraine ? As I think of options for the national team him and Lucas Moura give me some optimism. I'm not saying Bernard deserves a call now but if he gets consistent playing time in Brazil or Europe I think he can be a valuable asset to the squad due to his dribbling/ quick thinking.
I mentioned in the transfers thread that Shakhter are looking to make the team more Ukrainian and rely less on foreigners hence the selling of 3 major Brazilian players at losses( well Fernando was at a loss) already. Bernard needs to be the next one to leave but from what I remember they were willing to let him leave to Corinthians but he wanted a higher salary. If thats the case he needs to figure out what he wants because no team will pay him what Shakthar were paying him which was reportedly 90,000 Euros a week.
Really? I saw some nice, accurate crosses, some good movement, some nice skill with the ball, good workrate to fight for balls and a willingness to take on his marker. There wasn't anything earth-shattering, granted, but its definitely a good start IMO.
The newness will wear off Then gain, in the Bundesliga some of our players like Diego, Ailton, and Grafite were craques ...
Other than the top 2 or 3 teams being better is the BL that much different than a decade ago ? My comment was a bit tongue in cheek BTW
Depth from top to bottom has gotten better, no? The youth academies have also improved. Dortmund doesn't sign any Brazilians anymore
Douglas Costa é destaque de novo, Bayern bate o Real e leva título de torneio de pré-temporada http://t.co/FUZagYSCV1 pic.twitter.com/P5hUdmx5sv— ge (@geglobo) August 5, 2015 Hype is building. Maybe I should take a peek at the Bayern forum to see how they feel.
Yeah, but they've lacked pace and "electricity" on the left for a while, given that Ribèry basically lost his legs after 2012-2013. So its understandable.
Overall, he has been decent IMO. I felt he didn't do to bad in the Copa America off the bench. Before that, he wasn't someone we considered good enough for a spot on a 23 man roster over.
Hmm... Well, now that he's made the big move and is possibly a starter, do you think that that impacts his standing in the NT?
For me Neymar and Lucas are the undisputable starters ( as long as Lucas gets a chance and grabs it, that is). They are the most talented of the crop. Then there is Willian, one of the very few who left a positive or at worst neutral image from Copa América. He is a solid sub for me. Douglas Costa... He was a bench player even after we lost Neymar, that is not a good sign... But he didn't play badly. He certainly deserves more chances and can claim the last spot, no doubt. In the bench, but a spot nonetheless.
