Bradley would be a great pickup. How about Jozy Altidore? He didnt do so well at hull because it's hull. Not so great players, and it was his first year. He can replace Heskey easily
aside from the obvious "out", I haven't heard much (at least much that concerns me). I haven't really heard any "ins" which makes me a little nervous.
Yeah, I heard that. I guess with Warnock and Dunne, he is kind of out of the loop... I also heard that liverpool wanted Petrov. But in all honesty, MON won't go for that. They are attached for life. I can deal with losing Luke Young I guess. As much as I like him, 25 for Milner wouldn't be a bad goodbye gift, but losing Stan would be a problem...
Looks like Milner is going to City for 20 million pounds and Steven Ireland is heading to Villa Park. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=815014&sec=transfers&cc=5901 I was hoping that with MON gone and Milner scoring on Saturday that he might just stay, but I guess that was a pipe dream.
I have to disagree. I liked Milner a lot, but I also always like Stephen Ireland. I think, when pissed, Stephen Ireland could be dangerous. VERY DANGEROUS. And Milner is good. is he 23,000,000 good? No. Not at all. Sorry. One standout year isn't 23,000,000 to anyone but City. Don't you remember that the year before last he was being called "overrated"? I thnk we just took them to the cleaners. Even if we only invest half of it on transfers in January and the other half has to go to covering the wages that MON took on (or rather PUT ON the bench), then I still think we won. I think the team played with real fire Saturday, partly because there was no MON there. We will see if it stays this way.
Strange to see Stephen Ireland in a Villa kit, but I'm sure I'll adjust to it after a few games of him doing it justice.
Aston Villa are looking to land Wigan duo Maynor Figueroa and Hugo Rodallega, skysports.com understands. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6658573,00.html what do you guys think of Maynor? would u like him? he might of been chicken shit for awhile now with Wigan but with better players around him in Villa I think his level can grow...
Congrats on Makoun and Darren Bent! Can't wait to see the starting XI now!!! Fun times ahead (knock on wood) for Gerard at Villa!
I'm pleased with the new signings. Both players seem to be in their mid-to-late twenties, which is an ideal age range to play football. I hope we can turn our season around. Crossing my fingers!
Kicker in Germany is reporting that Aston Villa has stepped in with a deal to acquire USA international Michael Bradley. They are offering a half-season loan with the option to buy.
Sounds good to me. Not a big fan of him or his dad, but certainly wouldn't hurt to add him to the squad. We'll see what he does.

Thank God that abortion is over. And while people may question his dad, Baby Bradley's career so far ranks up there with one of the most impressive ever by an American. MLS at 16, Eredivisie at 18, Bundesliga at 21, and now Premier League at 23. The kid's got the goods.
