Both Lejeune and Yedlin could return this week. Shelvey will be available, but maybe not selected after hurting the club. Merino has also played well in his absence. The latest question is who will start at LB now that Mbemba, who subbed well at that position, has been injured over the international break.

Swansea have a lot of new faces. They signed and loaned players we could not: Clucas, Bony, and Mesa exceed our transfer spending. Then throw in Renato Sanches and Tammy Abraham on loan.

What a welcome result! Swansea had 62% possession, but we led in shots, especially in shot on goal, 8 to 4. Renato Sanchez was particularly amusing as he moved strongly with the ball then repeatedly passed it to one of our players. Lascelles was MOTM with a sliding block after Elliot was beaten, followed by his towering header that was too close-range to block. Gamez looked serviceable at LB, which was a welcome surprise. Ritchie continues to be Ritchie at the PL level. We did not see Lejeune, Yedlin, or Shelvey, but that's a pretty good bench to have at your disposal. Let's hope so many people are not talking about survival half-way through the season.
