That wraps up the year with a feel-good 4-0 routine win against a Fulham team that did not show much fight on defense. As luck would have it, Bournemouth lost their match, which means we end in 13th place - better than we might have expected after our terrible start. It was nice to see Shelvey get his goal. He seemed relieved after so much of the season on the bench. It will be interesting to see if he's part of the squad next year. Rondón signed off with a goal on his own rebound. Doesn't seem like he's the type of player we'll buy, despite how well he fit into Rafa's system. Even Perez could leave, although it doesn't seem that those teams willing to have him would be able to afford him. Time will tell, and almost everything depends on Rafa's decision.

I don't have a good feeling, because Ashley has already wasted two years fighting relegation when he could have been building the foundation of a competitive team. It doesn't seem hard for Rafa to find a better prospect for his time, unless he's determined to stay in England, but even then it should happen. It's a damn shame too, because Newcastle has the support to be a club that could move up in the table. Maybe it will be someone else. We've been told we won't have to wait long to find out. Thank God for that.
