Andrea Pirlo is reportedly set to become Roberto Mancini’s Italy assistant, while Massimo Ambrosini could take the same role with the Under 21s.
"game is opening up" says the broadcaster.... score is @ 6-3, lol This is the sort of game that most people want to see in the modern game. Good for a match like this, no hard tackling, no real challenges, no shape or tactics....good for a friendly for old guys.
Not watching the game but Paolo Maldini never wanted a testimonial match. He stated he only wanted a game that was compeititve and if it wasn't, he would rather have nothing. I have to say I agree. These things are more for the players than anyone else.
The major disappointment for the evening was the exclusion of one of Pirlo's greatest teammates ever ...... Simone Padoin Maybe he was injured.
Damn Falvo, you really do not know anything about Juve. Padoin is a legend. He won more scudetti than Pirlo (5v4) at Juve. A fan favorite and a very important player for the club.
Padoin played 84 total Serie A matches or what is on average 16 games a season in 5 years? That makes him a legend? Beato lui! mah sarà.... Luciano Bodini is more of a legend to me... Serie A champion: 1980–81, 1981–82, 1983–84, 1985–86 Coppa Italia winner: 1982–83. European Cup winner: 1984–85. UEFA Super Cup winner: 1984 Intercontinental Cup winner: 1985.
Come on Falvo. Playing games isn't the only thing that legends are made of. You underestimate the influence young padowan had with his mind.
and the charities... you may be aware, but the testimonial match started as a way to give a retiring player a bonus pay check to help them out as they made the transition into a new line of work. obviously today's superstars shouldn't need a final paycheck. now the tickets sold go to benefit the retiree's charity of choice in a lot of cases or some other worthwhile cause.
