Yeah especially in the way they gave it yo him. Patrick Veira could have at least let him play the whole or 1/2 of the game. It’s not like anyone else was doing more.

As a Bayern and Germany fan, I believe Pirlo at his prime 2003-07 is the best midfielder of his generation and one of the greatest ever midfielders I have seen. Media focused too much about Xavi and Iniesta, but I have always believed Pirlo would have achieved everything they have achieved if he were surrounded by world class players. For a player of Pirlo’s talent, I think it is unfair for him to play with the teammates that surrounded him(Not demeaning any players but just that Pirlo was too good).

In Pirlo, I believe God truly exists!

Considering the fact that Pirlo was often the main and the only playmaking hub of the team, nobody I have seen can exert such influence to his team and can single-handedly distribute the ball with such intelligence, vision, creativity and ease as Pirlo, not even Xavi.

    Agreed.

I mean... Montolivo is clearly the heir to Pirlo. But who is the heir to Gattuso?

It was more a shedding the books of payroll thing than it was a direct indictment on Noce's play, which for that level, was actually pretty good.

Ironically, Donadel’s MLS career is working out a lot better than Pirlo’s did...
