    Pereira
    Guerreiro

    William
    Danilo
    Neves
    Bruno Fernandes
    Moutinho
    Joao Mario

    Neves
    Bruno Fernandes
    Moutinho
    Joao Mario

    Ronaldo

    Andre Silva
    Guedes
    Diogo Jota
Eder - Would have picked Gelson but I would put Eder in at the end of another final to become the ultimate troll Legend.

We are fairly deep in all areas except Centre back and striker, but Ronaldo masks our lack of quality strikers.

    Goncalo Paciencia impressed me though.

Felix may not get called up.

He will need to do well with Atletico Madrid the rest of the season to have a chance. Competition is tough and he has shown nothing but laziness well
    Playing for Portugal .

I hope Santos learns his lesson from the WC and picks players based on form, and plays them in their proper position.

He better not call up his favourites if they haven't been playing first team football.

I agree with Martelos team selection.

Totally agree. Not sure why he wasn't taken for the last two games.

Because everyone knows he's gonna get hurt.

Great player, deserves to be on the squad, but he's softer than baby shit.

Guerreiro is not only a terrible and shitty player, but also "soft", yet was chosen by everyone else

Impressed you with what? His ability to miss sitters against an absolutely horrible defence?

The positivity, i can feel it.

    lol.

Honestly, in all fairness, he is one of our better options at this very moment.. regardless of how many sitters he misses.

Guerreiro has good skills going forward but he’s poor defending and gets pushed off the ball far too easily. We all know that. But what better option is there at LB? Mario Rui? Im not sure about that.

On RB we have almost too many options. I wonder if anyone of Semedo, Cancelo or Pereira can play on the opposite flank?

We know they can, its Santos who is not using that option.

Cancelo has played LB at Juventus. Maybe even a game or two at Man City (this i am not certain) and Pereira has played LB at Leicester already too. Not sure why these options are not being utilized.

Are you mad?! He will be selected but will suffer the same fate as bernardo, he'll grow eventually, but he's too talented to be left off.A

Santos can't afford to drop the ball... Like he did two years ago. Pick the best, not positional players who you like.

I agree, Santos ********ed up royally at the world cup, picking his favourites who were out of form and barely played.

This should be the starting lineup

    --------------------Patricio
    Ricardo--pepe---dias----rui
    ------william--sanches------
Bernardo---bruno---Rafa/felix/jota (doesnt matter but personally would start Rafa)
    ------------Ronaldo------------

Would also call up vinicius to be back up striker

I agree that on paper, your midfield of William-Sanches-Bruno F. makes sense from a talent perspective.

however, the best lineup on paper does not necessarily mean the best team dynamic. The more I think about it, the more I am concerned that, as many of our players play on different clubs, building chemistry will be a challenge for Santos.

This challenge is magnified due to the fact we are placed in a difficult group. A slow start might cost us. When I think back to past great Portugal teams, we often see that the core of the team played for the same club. For instance, in 2004, Portugal had a core from Mourinho's FC Porto side. In 2016, our midfield was pretty much the Sporting midfield (William, Adrien, Mario, plus Sanches from Benfica at the time).

This is why, for me, it would make sense to either go with the Porto midfield (Danilo and Sergio Oliveira) or perhaps the Wolves duo (Neves and Moutinho).
I would probably add Bruno Fernandes to that as he is just in too good of form right now.

I've really been impressed with Sergio Oliveira. Years ago I scouted him and he is now vindicating my belief in him. I also note that he has played a big role in leading FC Porto to the top of the Primeira Liga (they are now in first place, and I think it is thoroughly deserved).

100% agree with the chemistry part. Neves was the missing link when FS foolishly left him out so I say Neves/Jota deserve to start BF definitely looks good but he always seem inconsistent when he plays for Portugal.

I'm a believer... You ALWAYS go with your strengths.

I'm sure Santos will be stubborn again. Ugh!
