I think the river end with the chants and tifo is always improving and will keep getting better. The flag pole idea is awesome! I would love elaborate tifo.

The River End is better off with only SOB members and should be less worried about filling the section for the sake of having bodies there and more worried about having more people that are louder. Sometimes I feel like one of the only ones around me screaming my brains out and people being there just to get hammered. A lot of folks in supporters groups for the U put in a ton of time (wish i could help more) and its a shame when other people try to disrupt it or not help it along (negativity)

Not really sure where to put this and I didn't want to start up a whole new thread.
But for next years River Cup, it would be cool to see more teams set up and make it an all day event. Maybe just start with 4 teams next year( Union FO, SoB, Bearfight, and someone else).

How about the Union "reserves"? They could use some competition. Or how about the Union academy guys?

If you included the reserves and Bearfight FC, the SoBs and Union FO would probably get demolished being that they are playing against fringe professionals in top shape and an actual team that plays together for more than a one-off game once a year.

Or maybe not, I don't know...

maybe I'm completely ignorant, but I was under the impression everyone on Bearfight was pretty far off from being anywhere near a professional. (Aside from Califf obviously) You do have a point about playing regularly though.

They are. Perhaps I should have written it:

    1) Fringe professionals (Union Reserves)
    AND
    2) A team that plays together regularly (Bearfight FC)

Could include Reading and Harrisburg City FO's and supporters. That would make 4. I like the idea of an all day deal.

The money I spend to get to the match, to park at the match, get into the match and eat at the match makes me one helluva supporter no matter how reserved I choose to be. If I have to put up with boisterous people, then my approach to support has to be tolerated. There isn't a one-size-fits-all model of a fan. You pay for the right to be there, then your support has been expressed.

Was that when he "gave away" all of his Union gear in some misguided protest?

    Protest? More like an exorcism.

If you paid me instead of wasting your money on the Union, I could provide you with comments to yell and scream about and you wouldn't have to walk around with BIMBO on your chest.

More fun than the Union too!

    Just a disaster-scene gawker.

You thanked me when you paid me.
