The PSP post SAYS he will be writing for the website, but I predict he will be working as a tactical advisor under Jimbo by the end of this season, he will be promoted to Interim Manager in 1-2 years when the outcry against Jimbo from the remaining 12 fans becomes too loud to ignore, and then the "Interim" tag will be removed at shortly thereafter.
Adam's tactical analysis has been pretty good. Hope any writing he does continues to be of the same objectivity.
You couldn't be more wrong. The Union's eMLS Cup player is higher in the pecking order for the manager position.
Yeah, I mean HH wise I’m sure he’s not wrong.. rating wise it’s a different animal... I wouldn’t be surprised if PHL17 generally gets more viewers than CN8 and CSN. (It probably does). LiveWell though... yeah, not sure I buy that one. fwiw i bet the Union doesn’t even come close to the ratings modern family re-runs get.
Looks like the Union Podcasters gave up too... all we get this week from the 3 regular podcasts is an 8 min interview with Bayern Munich coach.. lolololol Nexus Cast could easily fill that void.
Reading the article linked below, and some of the comments that follow are just making my head spin. Maybe I am the one taking the crazy pills when I look at this team. Maybe I do need to take some time to step back a bit. Sure, we were down to 9-men and we only lost by 2. But is everyone ignoring the fact that Atlanta had 31...31(!) shots, and only put 10 on goal (and hit 2 crossbars)? I don't care how "gutsy" you are, if the other team doesn't put 21 of their shots on frame when they are up 2 men, you're not going to lose 0-7. The gutsiest performance in Union history
ehhh, I think the Atlanta game could be a rallying point for the team in the locker room. For a team that showed very little emotion earlier this season, in a weird way it's a bit refreshing to see what we saw in Atlanta. Could be a turning point.
It's a shame it takes this sort of match to summon motivation, rather than the coach and players themselves...
I hope you're right but I really don't see it that way. Yes they only lost 3-1, but Atlanta still had 31 shots (5th most for any game in MLS history apparently), hit the crossbar twice and had a goal called back for being offside. It easily could have been 7-1.
I get that, but when it comes to confidence/team building I think it's really more about how the team interprets it instead of what the reality of the situation was. Everything that has come out of Chester seems to be positive takeaways. They obviously aren't looking at it as objectively as you and I might look at it.
Even prior to the Atlanta game the Union had been playing much better during the month of May (latter half of April too).
I agree with both of you. For whatever reason, the team has spun this into a positive and believes that it has momentum. If it works for them it works for me.
Union up to #10 in the MLS Power Rankings. Highest ranking of the year so far. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2018...-sporting-kc-grab-top-spot-after-comeback-win
