Every so often I read a piece that exists to justify a press pass. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/...-United-New-York-Villa-Sapong-Johannsson.html
If you follow him on Twitter, you've already heard it. In summary, he got from Yankee Stadium to his place Philly in about the same time it takes him to get from TES to his place in Philly. Dude needs an editor.
He conveniently leaves out AT BEST he paid an extra 80 dollars for those train rides... but ya know, if it means shitting on the city he lives in, why not?
But he won't hesitate to tell me what broadcasting giants came together so I can finally stream women's soccer
https://www.fourfourtwo.com/us/feat...-nots-targetted-allocation-designated-players Good article on the changes in MLS and how ownership groups like Philly's will fair.
Aside from the salary cost of paying a higher-end DP, do we see Sugarman et al. paying multi-million dollar transfer fees to get the kind of quality that, say, Atlanta United have gotten? Nope. But, then again, they are not necessarily looking for good players.
@Cherry Hill SOB's conversation with Jay gave me a tinge of hope he'd be willing to pay and bring someone in.... but you're right, I still have the nagging feeling any signing and transfer fee scenario is going to be a botched "money ball" signing.
They did go out and get Ale Bedoya, and Alberg. I get the feeling Sugarman's wariness came from not trusting Nick Sak's regime. The M'Bohli signing couldn't have instilled Sugarman with confidence....... Sugarman strikes me as the sort of rich guy who values his money, and isn't just going to spend for the sake of spending. He needs good, concise, data supported reasoning to spend his money. Let's hope, the current regime can provide that to the Ownership group...........
I don't doubt that the Union have someone targeted, but my concern is if the target doesn't work out they don't have a solid backup plan to pivot to. Seems like that has happened every season. Eggs are always in one basket.
Tribbett. Yaro's return is on the Horizon, Elliot displaced him and Gooch can still be plugged in as needed. Sorry Ken, but you need to be loaned out, or traded, or released, or something.... get him off the books.
What's the minimum amount of GAM that can be traded? When Houston offers us $5 in funny money for Tribbett, will they be trolling us or can we actually make the deal? I assume the MLSPU put a stop to the old "hotel rooms for players" tactic.
