A bit off topic, but it seems our new cross town neighbors are in trouble already. Although not a total surprise when Matt Driver is the one in charge. Definitely not a great look for NISA. https://www.soctakes.com/2019/09/04/philadelphia-fury-players-yet-to-be-paid/
I ask this question every time there is a new minor league team: Where are they getting the money from to pay the players? Attendance will be minimal, there is no TV (the Union PAY to be on TV as I understand it) and there can't be many sponsors. So . . .
Tannenwald saying they got paid last night. Funny that word comes out they got paid after news broke that they hadn’t. This team won’t make it long with shady stuff like this happening. I heard last night that the players did get paid. The source was secondhand, but someone I trust. I also haven’t heard anything from the team. https://t.co/4yJR3Ry3Um— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) September 5, 2019
and now this: Breaking: Two sources tell me that the Philadelphia Fury will be suspending operations in @nisaleague until the Spring season. No comment yet from the club. This will clearly impact the Fall Showcase schedule.— Chris Kivlehan (@kivlehan) September 18, 2019
