Agreed, every time I see people calling for him to be benched and claiming he hasn’t been playing well in his past 3 or so appearances I can’t help but shake my head, you can tell their knowledge of football is very limited.

For the system we are playing right now, we don’t have a better midfielder than Isco, his ability to roam around the pitch and connect passes is crucial, when he isn’t playing we simply aren’t as fluid, I’m not even going to touch on much work he does off the ball. Football is more than just goals and direct assists.

Big loss to our depth. Cope says likely out for a month.

More minutes and responsibility for Ceballos i suppose

Ceballos and Llorente are good enough. They will do just fine. We have enough depth in midfield.

That’s a bummer, he was playing such good football thankfully our midfield’s depth is great.
This could be the time for lopetegui to set Ceballos loose, the only time he’s played for us he’s done so in the CM position, if played with our 3 midfield vets he could be given the Isco role and play like he did at Betis with the freedom to create plays.

This sucks but it may also lead to more minutes for both Vinicius and Mariano.

This sucks. Better early in the season than later though

And Valverde. He needs to get some minutes. He's been unjustly ignored since the beginning of the season.

Well to me it's looking like he stagnated and he'll never reach the heights we expected of him. Slow, bad decision making which often slows attacks(especially counters), not good enough at scoring, not that great of a workrate or defensive work.

Still a great player but I'd rather have De Bruyne or James in his position.

Nobody exposes how fickle and ignorant fans are as Isco. The amount of times people have changed their opinion on him depending on his and the team's form is incredible. Yet he is the same player all the time - the player with the best combination of dynamics, intelligence and technique out there. If I could play with any player on the planet on the same team, it would be him.

I see other things. I see the potential of a next ballon winner. But I also see the just not good enough passes , the wrong decision making , holding the ball way too long , stopping potential counterattacks because of the wrong choices.

We should go for De Bruyne. He is a mastermind and to me the best midfielder in the world together with Modric. His vision is unseen and there is no player with the same football intelligency atm. But he ll cost like 750 mil lol.

I don't see what you guys see and I've been consistent throughout..
I see in Isco a player who can give you moments of brilliance but who lacks the football vision and know how to be highly influential in games consistently.

He is in his 27th year and he oscillates like a 20 year old. I don`t see the next generation leader. Get it?

Went from being a very important player under Lopetegui to a non factor under Solari.

51 minutes in 4 matches played under the new coach is just sad.

He had a surgery. A full recovery takes time. Let's judge him after a few weeks.

    How much time?

He’s been on the bench for 5 consecutive games now and under Lopetegui he had already started in the game against Levante which we lost.

Like I predicted before the season , if you can't win a spot at your 26 or 27 , when will you ? He is a talent and will always be just a talent. He is an excellent choice to have on your bench, but a player to drag a team ? Nah .

I don't know honestly. Apendicitis is not a norm. But we both know Isco is better than this.

And we have players playing like shit that are still starting despite form. It's not like all of Solari's decisions make perfect sense.
