Not as bad as Chile is with stuff like that. Vidal destroys his Ferrari and plays a few days later because it happens in Chile during a Copa America haha
Did any of you guys see James' interview by a Peruvian journalist? "You want Peru in the World Cup?" James "Obviously, I want South American teams to qualify and Peru as well" What a stupid question and what a careless answer haha
Ese siemprecrema es un personaje. Se hace el amigo de todos que respeta, el desentendido etc... y después va al foro peruano a decir que es un papelon la clasificación de Colombia al mundial porque se cree que Peru es superior. Be real dogg, stop being such a pussy.
Cuando dije eso? Dije cosas antes del partido... Colombia no es lo que era en 2014 pero ganaron mi respeto. Davinson es un jugadorazo.
Gareca would be a great hire, he's done an amazing job with Peru. No executes for Ospina, he gets credit he's saved us many times and I've always been an advocate for him but he had a terrible week, that goal against Peru was bad positioning, bad technique and letting in a indirect shot off him is really poor. His mistakes are down to sharpness, and his willingness to sit on the bench for 3 years is a reason for a lack of sharpness and match practice. At the high levels of sport you need to be in the fire constantly to keep your reflexes and mind sharp, you need practice over and over of playing with the adrenaline and fatigue in difficult situations, and Ospina doesn't get enough of it. I'm an Arsenal fan as well, but I want him to demand a transfer or at least a loan from January on especially with Arsenal, his issues are ones that can be controlled and with no good backups he needs to make a mature decision for the team.
I'd even want him to come back to Nacional who plays cups every year and would be able to play there for at least another 5-6 years consistently.
thats actually quite true... other than belating some aspects of the culture (such as argentinians being a little bit arrogant in general, or paraguayans having a horrible accent ), we are pretty friendly with outsiders in general
This video is 7 years old. Its not the same players. Peru's been very disciplined these qualifiers which is a big part of why we're playing so much better.
I mean not to start beef but Peru Qualified because of some bullshit. Not because your team was so much better then before or more disciplined. You were gifted 3 extra points or 6 because you guys fking lost!! And then 3 goals. When you lost. You would have finished below Chile and Paraguay. So 7th and slightly better then Normal.
To be fair, so we're Chile and they still couldn't qualify. We were given 3 points. That's all set and done. The point is taking advantage.
I think Tottenham believes you! When he played last year for Nacional I knew he wasn't Going to last.. he Is a monster
And he can get much better. That is the scariest part for opposing teams. As I said in his abroad thread the sky is the limit with that kid.
I could give two sh*ts about the extra points. I mean what's the real difference between Chile qualifying vs. Peru? 1 point? A tie? That's it! Don't forget Chile received 3 extra goals in that game as well. Like someone here wrote before Peru was second to Brasil in making the most points during the second round of eliminatorias. A slightly better Peru wouldn't have been able to accomplish that. Give Peru 3 extra points in the last 4 wc qualifications and we were't going anywhere. Yes, discipline did play a key role in improving our game, from removing older less disciplined players, to requiring that all international players go straight to "la videna" when arriving in Lima for a game. So whatever happens against New Zealand (fingers crossed) I still think this is the best team we've had since 97. They just found their momentum a little late in the game (no pun intended).
If Peru qualifies there is a stipulation in his contract to keep him as Peru's manager until the end of the world cup.
Well I think I read some of you guys saying you wanted him to be your manager for the next world cup. But I guess Pekerman is signed on for that? Idk...
To be fair I forgot Gareca managed America de Cali. He wouldn't be a bad choice for you, although as a Peruvian I will kindly tell you to back off
