Well, 4-0 over Hamilton is not as good as Gers 6-0 over Hamilton. Interestingly, the Jams lost the previous two games without Perry, and also to pretty crap competition, but it's seeming like it will take a bigger run of bad form to get him back in the lineup.
The removal of both Yanks from the starting lineup has been a pure display of fan power, IMO. They were unrelenting in their hatred, and finally won. Not really a win for the club, though.
He was starting post-injury: All the green background ones are league games started after his return. He only missed one, and the last is the first he didn't start --but at least played 11', unlike Perry who didn't play at all.
Hearts fans loved him just a few months ago. He just hasn't been very good and his performances declined after he was captain for some matches. That won't endear him to the support.
He wasn't playing well, but he was not, by far, their worst players. In their forums, the overwhelming majority of criticism was focused on him, though. That armband was poison.
It's a poisoned chalice. Brown has faced the same with Celtic, if he's not playing incredibly then people hate him. Look at MB and probably many others. For many sides, there's not clear obvious choice for captain a la Totti at Roma. But unfortunately that's what many supporters want, and they tear the player down when that's not what they get.
British teams make a fetish of the team captaincy, believing it should go to the player who shows leadership on the field. IIRC other countries, especially on the continent reserve that leadership authority for the Club Captain, giving the armband to the oldest or longest-serving player available and rotating it a bit, precisely because they think the British fetish (quiet there!! ) places too much pressure on a player, which will only be compounded by removing it from a player whose loss of form has coincided with taking the position.
I just assumed he was talking about Ligue Un which might be odd but certainly plausible. League One in England is not.
wait you guys think Perry is too good for League 1? I really doubt he'd get on to a decent club in Ligue 1. But it's not as if he's lighting up the Scottish league as of now.
That's not exactly my opinion. I am saying though, that I estimate the probability of him moving to League One at close to 0%.
I would concur. Though I imagine he'd earn more at 1 of those clubs than at Hearts. Though wasn't it his decision to join any club (despite a paycut) in Europe?
Kitchen was an above-average MLS player, and MLS is miles better than League One. Yes, Kitchen (who I don't rate as a player, mind you), is far too good for League One. I mean, Ariyibi was too good for League One as well, and he's nowhere near the national team picture.
