Perú quiere organizar un Mundial Sub 20
    http://www.peru.com/futbol/AutoNoticias/FutbolPortada/2005/09/26/DetalleNoticia66426.asp

Nice to see we are so enthusiastic about hosting these tournies. I guess thats the only way we can get into these tournaments, be default

But on a serious note, where do these people get the money to renovate/build so many stadiums? They did it for the Copa America, and then for the on going Sub-17 WC. I also beleive we are set to host the Pre-Olimpico Sudamericano soon. Is there any possibilty that they are "setting-up" a major bid to host an actual World Cup tournament  ?? Who Knows?

World Cup, yeah right. the next world cup in conmebol is in 2014 and brazil are going to get for sure. its like been decided already.

we get money from fifa to renovate our stadiums. for the copa america, i guess conmebol. but its all good as our stadiums are getting better with each tourney. :D!

    Copa america in 2004
    Sub 17 munidal in 2005
is the sub 20 mundial in 2006??

no doubt that fifa and woodman see peru as good hosts because we are good organizers.

Thats one good way for youngsters to get premium exposure at an early age. As I see it in these last U-17 and U-21 in SA Brazil Argentina and Colombia have a great future. Venezuela, and Bolivia are at the bottom again. Peru its finally getting better in this division and caught up to Chile and Ecuador.

Brazil's next, that seems to be a sure thing. The Copa America may be a more realistic possibility, don't you agree ?

Brazil was a sure thing in 86 and 94. But wventhough they had the stadiums and the capacity to host millions of tourists they shot themselves in the foot with their administrative chaos. How can you expect a country that can't even organize a half-decent national league (from the organizational pov) to take on a WC?

Don't underestimate their ability to screw things up...

Peru can definitely host a mundial sub20. They've been talking about it since 2005 when we hosted the sub17, and the copa america got very good reviews aswell. I think for a country that is not use to having such attention when it comes to futbol, the mundial sub20 would be a big success with not just the tourist but peruvians as well.
