Not to pour salt in the wounds of Peru fans but Panama has scored more goals in the World Cup than they have in the last 36 years.
    :p;)

Hahaha .... I'll bet England gifted that goal so they can still finish 2nd... now England and Belgium are tied on GD. So what happens now if they tie Belgium? Is it a coin toss?

Just shows as well how broken our qualification process is. Good thing Montagliani promised to reform it completely

I gotta say seeing Panamanian fans celebrate their first ever WC goal like they've just won the tournament, even though their team's conceded 9 in two games, was the most feel-good scene so far.

    And think of it.
We can be watching a lot more feel good moments like that in 2026 when teams like Uzbekistan and Venezuela and Gabon score their first World Cup goals.

In case of a draw between Englabd and Belguim the fair play ranking has to decide who tops the group.
England with two yellow cards, Belguim with three yellow cards so far.

Being fair, Uzbekistan is better than Saudi Arabia. It just had a more difficult qualifying group.

Agreed. There was no excuse. The team was pure trash circa 2016-2017, happily they've punted the vets into the ashbin of an abomination in US Soccer History, and the results along the way w/the kids are very positive (back to back runs to the U-20 World Cup Quarterfinals for the first time ever (w/o most of our best kids who weren't released and/or called in), and then a series of positive results in friendlies (USA 1 Horvath 1 in Portugal, USA 1 France 1 in particular were highlights, the win over Paraguay was kinda cynical and annoying, the one downer was losing 2-1 in Ireland after going up 1-0).

Absolutely no excuse in not qualifying. I know, for the most part, why we failed, in terms of explanations, but it's still totally inexcusable, and guys like Bradley et all should rightly be banished, France 2010 style for it. Regardless of the explanations in place, it's still the most forgiving region to qualify from other than the AFC. No excuse to fail in qualifying.

I am just saying there will be the possibility of a lot more teams who have never scored in the World Cup scoring in the World Cup 2026..

I am impressed with England; they're actually playing and winning like how they're suppose to!

Yeah both they and Belgium didn't own as much as they should have in their opening matches (Hell belgium took a while to click before scoring those 3) but yeah they're both meeting expectations.

But I am curious to see how they would do against each other which are much better than Panama and Tusina.

It's decided on the number of yellow cards apparently.

Pride of Concacaf scored the first goal of their history. I guess we have to wait for San Marino to show up in WC 2026. The quality of world cup is going down the drain.

For Panama is all about being in the WC and scoring that first goal,if it's their first WC,you know you're going to lose, the goal is not to be embarrassed by these type of scores, but getting your first goal is a huge deal.Who knows ,now the mission is to get the first win.
