Yeah, agreed, it was pretty stupid by Sanchez. But if I remember correctly, Umtiti’s handball led to a penalty but no red card. Perhaps Sanchez’s handball was worse?

 

muscle fatigue is what commentators in my country said that James is suffering from. Don't know if it's official, or not, but... that's the only explanation I've heard so far

 

Umtiti didn't prevent an obvious goal from being scored. Think Luis Suarez 2010, but less obvious.

I honestly haven't seen umtiti's handball. Sanchez' handball was pretty obvious, intentional AND as a last defender. Red was justified

The ref had no choice on that PK and red card. That was a intentional handball that prevented a goal.
