Honestly, don't start. When Africans appeared on the scene they were known for running, instead of falling. But after losing a few World Cup games to diving Brits, Argentinians, Italians and the sorts, they decided to 'play it smart'. Claiming Africans proliferated diving is just bull.
Gianluca Vialli's books includes a pretty convincing argument for diving/embellishment . . . check it out. Logically, it's a good play. It's frustrating as all hell, especially now that we get slo-mo replays of everything, but for players trying to win an advantage over a referee and opponent, it's usually a good play. It is what it is.
That open header miss is all you need to know ... Korea did nothing to deserve anything out of this game. A very efficient and professional performance from Sweden. I think they'll give a lot of trouble to Germany.
I liked Argentina - Iceland, Mexico - Germany, Denmark - Peru, and to some extent Costa Rica - Serbia, so I wouldn't say atrocious. And these are only 12 games out of a total of 64
