Hi everyone, First of all, welcome to the new posters joining us! You might have recently created an account just to get in on the World Cup excitement, or you may have already been lurking around BigSoccer and decided to finally get involved in all the banter. Either way, welcome! A general bit of advice for you, as well as a reminder for our longtime posters: we're all here for the football. With that in mind, we here are taking a zero-tolerance policy towards expressions of racism, sexism, discrimination based on sexual orientation, xenophobia, ad hominem attacks, insults (towards a group of people, countries, or fellow posters) and trolling. Infractions will get you booked - and if you ask where was your warning, this is it. If you see a fellow poster insulting you or a part of your identity (race, sex, nationality, etc.)? Don't respond in kind - REPORT IT. It is the fastest way for us mods to handle the offending posts. So, with that said, good luck to both sides, and let's enjoy!
I'll disagree with you, just because I can. Seriously though, in talking to Ticos in my neck of the woods they are pretty pessimistic about their team recreating the 2014 magic. Their belief was it's one World Cup too far for too many players. I'll go Serbia 2-1.
Been saying it since December. Pinto is not there to save Los Ticos anymore. Let's see if they can prove me wrong and play well without his disciplinary ways and defensive first tactics.
I'd say 1-1 draw. Neither team has impressed me defensively, or offensively to score and not concede.
2 minutes into the game already 3 shots on goal. I like how it started, even though I didn't really want to watch this one.
Is Serbia the least talked about European team in this WC? I recall them being really hyped up in 2006 & 2010, their defence in particular. Maybe less pressure this time will be good for them.
I have a feeling Serbia will be a tough nut to crack for Brazil, and if they make it out of the group for whoever else they'll face in the knock out rounds, too. They seem too cohesive as a team and cohesive teams are always hard to knock out
Maybe in the media but I and others in this forum have said they can make a run in this Group and give Germany a run for their money if they face them.
This Ref has to learn how to use his spray paint on the grass. Instead of talking to the defender just show him where to stand.
pretty uncalled for foul. Otherwise I really like this CR team. 4 years ago I considered then a pleasant surprise and nothing more, but they really can play, and play beautifully. You can see there's chemistry between the players, and they're also skillful dribblers. I'm starting to like them
Can't tell if I'm watching a P channel or football with all the focus on a downed player's crotch and smooth thighs.
