Hey guys, Paul covered this fairly well in his original threads so I'll copy and paste his warning for this second set of games:

We have had close to zero issues so far, so remember to be respectful and everyone is welcome. Enjoy the games everyone.

I think that Sweden will make things difficult for Germany and force them to play desperately to where a counterattack can take full advantage.

Buuuuuut Germany is still Germany so I am gonna say that they'll get their shit together and will get this win.

It sounds like Jogi is going to try ********ing up the formation & lineup again. A bold strategy.

Waiting for chaos to ensue if Sweden scores first.

Italy almost beat Germany euro 16 qf pks
Sweden beat Italy in playoff for wc 18
Sweden upset Germany possible wc 18

Circuitous thinking ftw makes the anticipation for the game more exciting

All people say Germany is Germany. However I give 50% chance of failure for this. Failure means draw or loss for Germany. In my book Germany is eliminated if they fail to win today. Today is the day where Löw has to show if he is a very good coach or not. If Germany wins this they are back in contention for a deep run. Interestingly the last time they lost their opener in 1982 against Algeria (1-2) they went still to the final and end up losing there to Italy.

This is going to be very painful i suspect. Germany is pissed off at themselves for the Mexico debacle and will take it out on poor little brother Sweden. We're all hungover from the Midsummer mania here yesterday. Gonna be a looong day and night...

Germany is still Germany... Yet, they may find it hard to break massed Swedish bunker (in the best form of current Swedish military trends - more bunkers build more bunkers!). Simply, German strikers are very poor (Gomez I like but he is way past it), and it is hard to break defense of 9 in the box just with midfield (look Spain v Iran, and Costa is better then both German strikers).

Germany should try to create more opportunities for Toni Kroos to shoot from outside the box. I believe 1:0 is possible.

Mind you, Sweden is not as good on the counter as Mexico, so Germany will be able to commit more people forward without fear of being punished.

Must win game for Germany today. Expecially if Mexico wins.

Will be glued to both games today. But, recording German game as kids have a concert today. Tough being a parent, :) Total media blackout starts at 2pm.

So winning it all last time didn’t prove that? I think,it is the team, so many new faces, need time to gel.

No it didn't. Not when he had the best team in 2014 & 2016 and the 2nd best team in 2012 & only managed to even make the final that one time he won. Jogi has wasted Germany's golden generation.

Nah... It was Spanish Diamond Generation which prevented German Goldie's from winning more. Joegi did all right, he did not fail.

Sweden are the proven giant killers of this campaign... France, Holland, Italy... could Germany be the biggest scalp of them all?

I smell blood while Jorgi Leow smells his....

The spanish golden generation beat us deservedly in 2008 & 2010...although I'll always wonder how that 2010 SF would've gone if Mesut had gone down for a penalty at the end of the first half when it was still 0-0...but 2012 Jogi screwed up before we even faced Spain again & they didn't stop us from anything in 2016, that was all on Jogi's errors.

2016 were injuries, plus insane ball handling by Schweinie. Germany controlled the semi v France, yet with like 4? Players injured, they could not maintain momentum.

But injuries didn't have to cripple us if Jogi had picked the squad better. Can shouldn't have been on the team, neither should Draxler, Schurrle or Schweini's corpse, and Jogi needed to recognize that Müller was awful at that tourney a lot sooner.

If Jogi makes the right decisions in 2016, then even with the injuries & suspensions we would've been more clinical with our chances, Can wouldn't have been on the pitch taking 15 minutes to decide how he wanted to give the ball back to the french for a counter, and our D would've been stronger.
