What I like about his game is his quick feet for a big man. Mmmm, that sounds like another big man that we are hoping to continue his upward trajectory.
Keaton scores again! GOOOOLOOOOO! Keaton empata aos 73 minutos! https://t.co/w58KtB2u0R— Varzim Sport Club (@VSC1915) December 21, 2016
Hi, I'm the one who actually wrote about Keaton on that 3rd Degree article. We went to high school together and is still one of my good friends. Keaton was a part of a Frisco Liberty side that went 25-2, and was played in a 4-5-1 there as one of 3 center mids. I see Keaton better as an advanced midfielder up the pitch. He can play the box to box role well, but seeing him play in HS and some in the pros, he was always effective forward. Don't really see him as an outside mid, thought it was interesting with Eusobio played him there. More of a central player. Take a look at this strike at 3:03. This was from his junior year in HS. Shows what he had in high school. Dude was always crazy good, and it's great to see him doing well.
Key game to watch for Parks is coming up. December 30th, Varzim will play at Sporting in the Taca de Liga. Will be cool to see if he plays, and if he does, how he plays against a top side like Sporting.
You know it's been a good year when it starts with a quiet thread in YA academy and ends with you leading a "Texans Abroad" column that also includes Omar Gonzalez and Emerson Hyndman. http://sportsday.dallasnews.com/soc...rks-scores-emerson-sitsgarza-moving-stateside
It's not surprising to see a promising player snapped up quickly. The Portuguese second tier is not a high level and there's no way he's making all that much money at Varzim. Portimonense aren't exactly giants either, but they have a four point lead at the top of the table and a 14 point lead over third place. The top two in the league are promoted, so if this goes through Parks would have a strong chance of being promoted with the club.
Club is in Algarve on the south coast, opposite side of Portugal from where he's at now. It looks sweet.
Someone is always watching. I generally like consistency in club environment for our emerging young professionals but I'd be all for that move. He'd have to adjust to new team dynamics but not a higher level of play in the short term. Opportunity to help a club win a league title and the potential to move up from the 2nd to 1st division in due time.
Can someone get create this kid a damn Wiki page so he can be legit? You cannot be on the verge of a move to a new club and one that is promotion contenders without one! Seriously, though congrats to Keaton! He has earned it! He has seemingly came out of nowhere. Sounds like a similar story to Josh Gatt who went from Rheindorf Altach in Austria to Molde
Very well deserved. Portominese are currently 14-points in the clear of being promoted so his chances of being in Portugal's top tier next season is very good.

Since Póvoa de Varzim literally means Town of Varzim it works as well saying in Varzim and works better as a play om the movie title. In any case, it is a good thing the thread name was never changed since the lad is off to Portimonense. My nomination for the greatest surprise player of 2016. One would hope a U20 call up is in the offing!
