    that goal was impressive

edit: but the team as a whole is still disappointing. not sure what their actual game plan is except when Karius boots the ball long to Koo on the left flank.

Koo's been pretty good today unlike WC.

yea, solid so far. but Mainz as a whole??? their build-up from the back is slow or sloppy (maybe it's the weather and the pitch) nor are they pressing well. their good moments have come from Karius booting the ball towards Koo & whatever that follows afterwards. oh well, at least Koo & PJH are doing well so far.. PJH improved from previous game where he got beat repeatedly by the guy with dreadlocks.

edit: btw, Koo really needs to settle on a position. he should beat Malli out of #10 spot (underwhelming performance by him) instead of hanging out in the wing without much pace.

Mainz has been boring to terrible. More backpasses than avg KNT match. I'd like to say manager told em to play it safe with lead but they kept doing it after giving up lead.

Malli's decision making has been poor. As for Koo getting position... that's the story of his career no?

true, but for KNT.. if he can't develop as #10 .. it's about time KNT should consider Ki & Koo to compete against each other for one/same position (as in, it should be one or the other as play-making CM next to DM.. or play 3 CM/DM).

As I said during WC, he's no worse DM option than other DMs KNT has and would rather have other players in more attacking roles. But I don't think his club career future will be anywhere outside attacking midfielder.

That said, it would be nice next WC to have some options for once and to adjust based on form/tactics instead of just defaulting players to positions.

mortiz has been bad too. I guess moving Koo to the left might give greater possibility of Kruse coming to play on the right...

2-2 (Mainz on agg. so far). anyways, that goal was coming...

as for Moritz, can't blame him since he's being played out of position. if Kruse does arrive, i think it will be to play on the right and the role Okazaki is playing right now for Mainz (they still have that new guy and Nedelev who are wingers).

Mainz' gk showing why not every GK can be sweeper like Neuer.

EDIT: Mainz' defense pretty poor today.

not sure why PJH was taken off vs say Okazaki who looked run down. Koo did look tired.
