While Le Guen is taking up all the headlines, the league has chosen to suspend Cayzac for a month and Guy for three matches. This is a result of their questioning the refereeing of a match! Ridiculous! http://www.football365.fr/depeches/filinfo_148323_34_PSG-Cayzac-suspendu-un-mois.shtml
this is pretty neat, from psg.fr, the club's official site, they now run video interviews, first there was one with Le Guen, now there's one of Rothen http://www.psg.fr/fr/news/show.php?id=11070 http://www.psg.fr/fr/video/ram/cp_45af96b57d254rothen1801psgfr.wmv
Thanks for posting the videos. It looks like PSG is actually putting some more time into a great club website. I applaude them for the effort. Too bad the English version has been awful in the past and not updated very often. I think if PSG is seriously interested in being global they should have French, Spanish, English, and Chinese at least.
Beyond lyon, there are varying degrees of talent that should pan out as one would guess. But both OM and PSG are notorious for inexplicable explosions and crises, and right now PSG is in the midst of the worst one ever. It's not that we have poor players, it's that the recent mentality at the club is so negative and so pressurized that it's hard to pull out results IMO. Before that, i'm not so sure, perhaps someone can add some input.
Early PSG stuff, from the beginnings in 1970 to the early 80s (so far). in videos and in english. http://retrofoot.iougs.com/?cat=19
concerning psgtv, they have been talking about it now for a couple of years... but the team's performances have not been so good, and the club was recently sold and bought up... but i think projects such as a new and modern training ground, some modifications to the parc des princes (talking about lowering the pitch and increasing the seating capacity by another 5,000 seats) and a psgtv channel are probably all part of the medium term plans... especially when marseille and lyon already have their tv channels, the "dirigeants" in paris probably won't let that stand for too long... psgtv in the usa...
Ask as you shall receive! Looks like PSG are posting the sporadic english interview on its official site. This one, before the match against AEK Athens, features Paul Le Guen http://www.psg.fr/fr/news/show.php?id=11296
The Cahiers du football are doing a special edition on PSG (PSG: Magique ou Tragique) - while you can't really buy it outside of France, they had an interesting accompanying article online including: Moments of Glory Moments of Shame Tragi-comic Anecdotes Players ruined by PSG Mythical objects of Paris Worst Transfers Cliches Dream Team vs. Nightmare Team http://www.cahiersdufootball.com/article.php?id=2409&PHPSESSID=29fa8b19453c3728c4f713ec00b85ad5
Super Mario might return before the end of the season! He trained lightly today, touching the ball for the first time since the horrific "collision" with Djib Cisse get well soon
For those who will be in Paris on wednesday, Landreau will be present at the Parc des Princes store from 16h to 17h! Given that he's been our best player of the season so far, this event is something nobody should pass up.
The stadium is in the southwest corner of the city in the 16e arrondissement, actually just above to the périphérique. Nearby you'll find a very nice hippodrome and the roland garros complex. However, don't be fooled by the big freeway, that's the only one you'll see. The neighborhood that the stadium is in is Paris at its quaint, stuffy best.
the calendar is out.... http://forum.psg.fr/fr/news/show.php?id=12023 We start at home against Sochaux, and obviously end the season there. It's interesting to note that the first leg games dominate at home, while we'll be travelling a lot for the second part of the season. Another interesting fact, the second game is against Lens, so we start big right away. In fact, we will receive l'Oheme on Sept 1, and go there early in february, so again they're trying to loosen the tension between the clubs by not pitting the two teams against each other later in the calendar when the game might be worth much more. Also, an important streak of big games will occur from the 5th to the 12th games, with Lille, OM, Monaco, Bordeaux, Rennes and Lyon almost back to back http://www.lfp.fr/calendrier_2007_2008/Ligue_1_Orange_2007_2008.pdf
Rodrigo scored a goal tonight in Uruguay's 4-1 thrashing of Venezula (Copa America). Didn't watch the match, so someone will have to tell how well he actually played (i watched the previous uruguay-venezula match, and honestly, rodriguez was pretty much ineffective)
He was the catalyst of the day. He took as many risks as possible to make things happen in the last third and made some excellent runs down the left to feed the attackers (he could've easily added an assist to his tally but Forlan didn't help). And the goal. Now here goes my question: Do you think he's good enough to replace Jeje?
I found him actually average Especially the first half And he is the one who broke up the wall and let the ball go in for the Venezuelan goal On the other hand, he managed to get in the action of the four goals, even if, like the fourth goal, he pathetically lost the ball trying to dribble a defended, he was lucky to have a teammate around. He started well, then disappeared and I was certain he would be taken out at the half, but he did end the game well, and Forlan seems to like him, he encouraged him throughout the game, even when Rodriguez was missing his balls (mostly because Cricri gave one or two balls on a platter for Forlan who put them wide, I think he wanted to make it up to Rodriguez) Now he'll play against Brazil, I hope he is in the starting eleven, it's really cool watching a player of ours actually doing something good on the national level. And if he manages to create a gem, we can sell him for a nice bundle of cash
