Just stopped by to extol the virtues of tomato and garlic pizza. Went out for one with my mom and my sister last weekend, and it was divine.
Okay Saturday night in Ellicott City, Maryland... Bella Mia on Waterloo Road (corner of routes 103 & 104). Large cheese and a large pepperoni and canadian Bacon - 5 fountain drinks.... $21.99 Great pizza, I'll have it everytime I'm in the area.
Last Wednesday: West Main - greek pizza Ham and green peppers and Pepperoni bacon. Top class for the Greeks. --- Saturday: Dragged to Carmine's in West Hartford Meatball/tomato and pepp/bacon. Waitress was good, no tip included. We hit here with a nice 20% percenter. Sunday: Naples - BBQ Chicken - super class Wednesday: Carmine's - usual. Waitress was poor, included a 15% tip in the check...then forgot to add it to the bill. We gave it to her anyway.
There's a restaurant chain here in Canada called Boston Pizza. They used to have a seafood pizza (Crab and Shrimp with Polonaise sause) until they overhauled the place. It's not as good as it used to be and they dropped the seafood pizza off the menu.
There is a Boston Pizza where I used to live in California. Believe it's a chain. Might be the same one. It was pretty good too.
I had a "Utica style" pizza last night that was great from 'Italian Chef' in Syracuse... the sauce goes on top of the cheese. Two Paisans in Rochester serves them that way as well, but they call it an "upside down pizza". For a detailed description please visit the following link: http://www.twopaisans.com/
Greek pizza tonight from West Main on East Main in Plainville. Pepperoni/Bacon - and Ham/Green peppers. Good stuff. Best to get extra sauce so you can dip the crust in.
I've got friends in Hamden, so we get back there every year or so for some great pizza. The Federal Hill area of Providence is pretty great too. NW Ohio? Not so good...
Papa Chio's at the corner of Harbord and Spadina in Toronto (just outside of the campus of the UofT) has the best pizza in town. They have twenty different options.
Good to know. I need to get to Toronto one day. === Tuesday: West Main's Greek pizza- pepperoni/bacon and Ham with Green peppers. Friday: Olee's - ham and a pep/bacon. I could eat pizza every day.
Had pizza at Bella Italia with my folks today. Good stuff. Had the margherita which had a delicious, savory flavor, although the crust was quite bland. Good excuse to cut away the crust and eat more of the middle. Got plenty of leftovers which I will take home to DC and eat tomorrow! Bella Italia is in Virginia Beach, by the way, towards Sandbridge area.
Okay 9 days without Pizza does not make me happy. Carmine's - ham and roasted peppers. This was fantastic. Absolutely great. Pepperoni/bacon. Carmine is looking for some help. I offered to come in part-time and work for him a few days. I'm seriously thinking about doing it.
Had some sublime food last night. Sette Osteria, Dupont Circle, DC. Antipasto which consisted of grilled bread and a selection of gourmet deli meats, and some marinated olives to top it off. Wonderful. Then the pizza...I got a Regina, which consisted of tomato, olive oil, basil, and most importantly, buffalo milk mozzarella. Heaven is the only way I can describe it. Oh and a bottle of red wine to boot.
Haven't been any new places, but the usual at Carmine's, Naples, Olee's, and West Main the past few weeks. Also we bought some dough at Price Chopper and made some great home made pizza last weekend.
My wife and I had a nice pizza Sunday night at Brooklyn's Coal Burning Oven Pizzeria in Hackensack. They use natural ingredients so the mozzarella and sauce is very tasty. I wish the crust would be slightly tastier, but it's a very good pie. My daughter hates it. She'd rather eat the shredded mozzarella kind.
