Lots of LFC failures here: Sakho, Benteke, Kelly, and of course the big one, Hodgson. Roy will park the bus as carefully and deliberately as he can. This probably won't be a fun game to watch, but it's a vitally important one to win.

This calendar year, CP has won 3 matches, Soton, H Town and Burnley, drawn 2 and lost 6 by an aggregate score of 6-13.

Arguably their best match was against ManU, which they lost thru a Matic goal.

Never a fun place to go but getting a result is massive.

A win would be utopia. :D

So it looks like all the internationals will be wrapped up Tuesday, and are in Europe, so the boys should be back at Melwood Wednesday. You would think Klopp has had a word and hopefully most of them will play the Friday game and not the Tuesday. Lallana is really the only one who is on the bubble of making the WC squad and may get 2 games.

get 3 points. apart from wanting them to consolidate top 4, doing all we can to get CP relegated is a must. I effing HATE Crystal Palace.

I like that we're the early game.
Win and put pressure on the others.
The spuds and chavs play on Sunday - a draw there would be nice following our win.

Just can’t do it this way...it’s just not the same as watching it live

Somehow I think there is some small part I can play by watching it live...if it’s recorded, there is no way to “manage the outcome”...

I can't watch soccer on delay or recorded - I tend to want to skip ahead when there are stoppages (like an injury or a substitution) etc. because I know I can.

American football is different - I watch it on delay regularly and catch up in real time usually for the 4th quarter given that 80% of the game is dead time, commercials, timeouts, the huddle. Plus despite being budgeted for 3 hours - it routinely goes 3:30 compared to soccer which almost always is done within the 2 hour window (knockout games aside).

I like being able to skip ahead with injuries and substitutions. Just don't need to see that

And I thought it was just me. Sometimes though that 30 second jump is too much. :)

It is good during spurs games. The amount of time they spend resetting Ali's legs.

you can be partially forgi'n in that you live in the Pacific Time Zone, but if you are pushing 50 instead of looking back at 70, then all bets are off. i've watched more than a handful of 4:30 matches, but there is a beautiful woman in the house who might awaken me with a pillow over my face one fine day if i woke her up at 4:52, yelling at the goal that the Reds had just scored.

Right - it is an adjustment to keep the noise level down at 4:30 am!

How people get into that sport baffles the heck out of me.....

most kids here in the US play basketball in school, not on a team, but in PE.

Association football is a mystery to most kids in the US. when i was in high school, i had never seen a "soccer" match. it wasn't until the early 70s when i discovered English First Division football on TV on Sundays. 90 minute matches edited to an hour.

most from my gen started with Soccer made in Germany which had the same format. Didn't start watching the English 1st division until the late 80s

In the early 90's we had RAI and the Italian games.
Then mid 90's ESPN started to show the semis and finals of the European Cup. Still remember talking my mom into letting me get out of school early to watch the Ajax vs Milan game. A few other friends were able to convince their moms, too, and we watched in my basement. We all carried a lot of love for that group of Dutch players for a while - it was our first real introduction to glory of the Cup. God I loved watching Seedorf play - genius.

What I mean is more akin to this - I like to play poker, but I'm fvcked if I'm gonna start watching it on TV....

I have somewhat of the same feeling for basketball - I wasn't much use at it, but it's fun to play. But when you watch it there is very little score or game recognition after the fact - it's all stats and cr@p like that... I watched bits of a game in a bar last night. Saw that James Hardin kept scoring, but can I actually remember the actualy beauty of any of those two or three shots I saw him make -nope. Basically I'm glad I don't watch it....

It is, however, more watchable then the MLS..!!
