I wasn't sure if he was even selected for the squad.

Too bad he didn't play though, maybe if Bradley had started him instead of that dirty, leg chopping Clark things might have been different. :D

Yes Torres is on the Confed roster. Hopefully he'll be in against Brazil. He looked very good against Costa Rica recently.

So the US finished a respectable second in the Confederations Cup, props to them!

However I don't think our boy Torres received any significant playing time if any at all. Stupid Bob should've put 'Gringo' in there as we all know Mexicans are very effective against Brasilians. :D

o well we brought back Cacho, i was hoping he would come back, now we need Fausto Pinto back and we have our team, remember because of Cacho Pachuca won 5 titles in a 15 month span, solidifying us as the best team in North America

Re: Pachuca players on international duty?

Do we have anyone on 2009 Gold Cup rosters? I haven't been following this tournament too closely.

Gringo Torres was called up again for the US games against El Salvador and Trinidad and Tobago in September. Hopefully he gets some playing time.

    Anyone else?

I believe Édgar Benítez is on the Paraguay squad for their upcoming qualifiers.

Didn't see the US-Salvador game but from the highlights it appears Torres nearly had a goal towards the end. He came in around the 85th minute and had a point blank shot blocked by the Salvadoran keeper Montes.

Meanwhile with the Paraguayan squad Benítez came in at the 77th minute against Bolivia in Asunción, don't know how he did though since I haven't been able to catch the match highlights.

Lord knows that the Gauchos could have used him. Instead they called Palermo to the squad:rolleyes:

In fairness to Maradona, Palermo and Giménez are different type of players but hopefully Chaco does get another callup. Maybe that way we can have another WC player since we probably won't have a single one for Mexico this time around. :(

Torres was very good in his limited time (came on in the 84th minute or so)...lots of good possession passes and a great header that resulted in a fantastic save. Hopefully he sees more time on Wednesday.

Well last night in the Mexico vs. Colombia we had Cacho and Aguilar who were both in the starting lineup. Cacho didn't really shine but Aguilar had a solid match and even contributed with late goal.

Too early to be confirmed, but on Jorge Ramos y su Banda they mentioned that he might start for Mexico in the upcoming game against El Salvador.

Yep, he had a nice assist for 'Tacuara' Cardozo's winning goal in Paraguay's 1-2 win over Venezuela.
