These were both before my time, though everyone in town still hates Bud Selig. And the Metropolitans were the first American team to win the Stanley Cup.
Don't believe I've ever seen that logo before, and I'm old enough to have bought "Ball Four" when it was new. What's with the wings in that logo? Very strange
In fact "Sounders" were the guys that would drop a string with a weight on it out of an airplane and measure altitude? I'm pretty neutral about all of Seattle's 'teams' but one -- please don't say anything bad about the Northwestern and coach (Captain) Sigurd Hansen.
Man is going to die in that chair before he gives it up to Edgar or Jake. My grandfather is a long-time crabber for personal use running pots in Puget Sound. One Christmas one of my uncles went down to Fisherman's Terminal (where a number of the crab boats moor) and got some crab from the Wizard and we did a taste test with the Dungeness we get out of the Sound. The Dungeness was better.
- Seems odd that (as reported anyway) a doctor cleared him to go back to sea. - Puget Sound with all of the effluent from a city the size of Seattle and esp. CenturyLink Field should produce crabs of a larger size much faster than the Bering Sea -- was it a 'nutty' flavor that made the Dungeness better? Aquatic dung beetles? ;>)
