So I missed most of the first half at my company's summer picnic. Caught the last 10 minutes on the radio as I jumped to where I'm watching the game. Doesn't seem like I missed much of anything.
Obviously the Rapids were playing for a 0-0 tie. Stalling; laying down with injuries, etc. If I was Pablo, I'd tell them, "Let's go steal this game. Don't be afraid to go for goal." I mean, does a point really mean that much? Try to steal the darn thing. And put in Gordon.
Since we're past the 75th minute MLS can decide to call the game and let the current result (0-0) stand if they decide the delay will make it impossible to finish tonight.
Any way to get that, or even just a bold print WTF on a crawler at the bottom of the screen at Altitude? You know like professional sports broadcasting networks might have.
But Pablo said this week that every game is a "must win". No, it really doesn't. Not at this point in the season. Outshot 8-1 on goal.
Wow. For the first time this year I can say that was a unacceptable effort. They always stink, but usually try. Can't say that tonight. They just refused to run hard on any counter attacks. This is the game where the FO could remove Pablo and legitimately say, "He's lost the team."
VAR, I solute you this week. Next week who knows.......A point on the road is always welcomed. A clean sheet on the road is welcomed. What is not welcomed is that fact we played with zero urgency and ignored the "must win" attitude. The only attitude we had was a bad one. Maybe when I rewatch the match I might have a different opinion but I doubt it.
