We interrupt your relevant soccer tournament for a Rapids game.

This was supposed to be the game where the Rapids had the chance to tie the record for losses in a row. Instead, we'll have Hudson wondering who he can trade for Minnesota defender Michael Boxall.

Minnesota has only scored one goal more than the Rapids (in the same number of games) despite having what seems like pretty good frontline talent: Christian Ramirez, Ethan Finlay, and Carlos Darwin Quintero.

You may remember Quintero from such films as "Santos 4, Rapids 1"; he's scored here before:

(See 1:10 for the goal, and also 0:50):

    Totoro,

I wanted to reply so you do not feel bad that no one has replied to this historically meaningful match.I will be there resplendent in my Iceland jersey.

I do think that the Rapids will win tonight based on MLS low of averages. Even a blind squirrel get a nut sometimes.

Finlay has been out since the second or third game with a torn ACL (ditto Kevin Molino).

Should be a very winnable game for the Rapids. But, having followed Minnesota United very closely this season (they're my other team), I think their morale is in a lot better place than the Rapids right now, and I don't have any confidence that the Rapids can stifle Darwin Quintero. That said, Minnesota's defense is bad, too, so I'm going to predict some kind of scoring draw. Let's say 2-2.

I was thinking of my Iceland Jersey as well. Since there is no name or competing team should be ok in 108, I think.

Given the train wreck of a season this has been, referring to anything as a “must win” game is laughable, that said....If Hudson has any hope/prayer of righting the ship, this will be as good of an opportunity as any.

AignerGate is finally behind us and fully in the past, the team should be as healthy as it has been all year, coming off 10 days rest, playing against a below average injury depleted team at home. If Hudson were ever going to consider tactical/formation changes (which I doubt), the time off would’ve been enough time to implement those changes....

How much of a difference will a fully healthy and fit Hairston make?

Is Ford healthy enough to finally replace Wynne on the back line?

Will Axel start instead of Wilson?

This isn’t a “must win” because those don’t exist for terrible, irrelevant teams....but given Minnesota’s injury issues and current form, it is definitely a “should win.”

I was thinking of wearing my Sweden jersey but its similar blue to Minnesota and given the Swedish heritage of Minnesota I decided to stick with burgundy :D

(Plus then I don't have to do laundry before Sweden-Mexico on Wednesday)

2-2 tie, goals by Badji and Price ... and four Rapids yellow cards.

Might have to break out by Vietnam National Team jersey for this game!

Most seasons, this and the last game would have been great chances for the Rapids to get some points at home. Minnesota is a pretty awful squad as was Chicago. However, this is a team that can't hold a lead. And they haven't shown much of an ability to come from behind. My guess is another draw, perhaps 1 - 1. Hudson will claim that the squad has finally turned the corner but that statement will be shown to be BS when the Rapids play some better teams in the coming weeks.

Looks like today's match and the next home match (July 4 game vs the Sounders) will feature the 3 lowest-scoring teams in MLS.

Could someone please PLEASE explain to me how Gashi and Mason are on the bench and McBean is STILL starting? After a 10 day layoff? When the season is already tanked?

Nicholson is a good player. Appears to be a good fit and naturally comfortable on the wing. Aggressive and continually shows up.

One half gone, 1 shot on target. Let's bring Pablo back if this is the "attacking, exciting" soccer we're in for over the rest of the season.

Castillo continues to be a bright star in a dark sky.

However clawing back a draw at home against Minnesota shouldn't feel so much like a 'win' (another corner turned?).

Clearly Mason can't come on as a sub for him if McBean doesn't start.

When the attacking player is behind the ball, defensive players' positions don't matter.

Tied, at home, against a weak team, up a man, can we kill the clock and 'save' the point?

How bout when everybody in white is ahead of the ball when its played. The 10 field players, the keeper, the subs... I don't know who kicked it; maybe the mascot,

Well that was unexpected: Raps 3-2 in the 96th. Off a corner
