No Watson for the Revs. Assuming no Dempsey for the Sounders.

Gershon Koffie not on the 5/24 updated injury report. Anyone heard more on his injury?

Interesting stat on the MLS matchup link. For the season we have committed 177 fouls and suffered 177 fouls. Seattle has suffered ~30 more than they've committed.

Heaps said that it was kind of a freak thing and that they were hoping to have him back soon, but that they were going to be very careful with him.
Interesting that it was so even. In the Dallas game, they outfouled us 18-9 - a pretty big margin.

With Copa break on the horizon, Revs “going to be cautious” with injured Koffie

Why take a chance with an injury when there's a major break right around the corner?

Seattle is majorly challenged offensively with plenty of attackers out. We need to throw a shutout in this one.

OK. Fair enough but Diego isn't the answer. It should be and should have been Kobashi or some Rowe combo.

Kobayashi has played in 11 of 13 games, with only 1 start. He went 70 minutes in that start.

I'll guess that he starts in place of Koffie, but doesn't play the whole game, with Rowe sliding over later in the game, or Herivaux coming on for him.

There has been a Papa Kraft sighting...repeat, Bob Kraft sighting at a REGULAR SEASON REVS home match.

Is there a full moon tonight?

    Apparently it's a 4-1-4-1

REVS down 1 0 in the 7th minute to one of the worst offenses in the league. The story of our season in a nutshell - poor defending.

Revs get a fortunate call on the handball pk. Even Feldman didn't disagree that was a weak pk. The guy couldn't get out of the way and regardless, it hit his midsection. Harsh for them but Nguyen makes no mistake and it's now 1-1.

A shutout was never gonna happen. The revs' defense is crap, though Shuttleworth made life far too easy on their goal.

Evans got his bell rung on a quick throw-in after Scott completely misplayed a ball out of bounds. I'd say that Scott owes him a few beers after that move.

I love our energizer-bunny super sub. Not bad for a third round draft pick

Three points is three points...good for the Revs. I like Farrell out wide more than I like him centrally. Femi is making a case for a start --- wonder when it will happen?

Still in 9th place on PPG. A long way to go. Was asked by my son who we were missing due to national team call-ups --- had to answer 'nobody'.

Farrell's a right back. Case closed.

Femi falls down. Seattle stand around and allow him to regain his feet and kick the ball in the net. Amazing.

That was actually a fun game ... but played by two bad teams. We got the call by the ref this time, but I know that never happens. They only hurt us.

Good to see Femi find the net again. And good to get a win in front of a huge crowd.

    Random thoughts

That was a win that felt like a tie. Our PK was probably the most undeserved call we'll get all year. I still don't think we've caught up in the ref-mistake ledger, but that was two points in a little gift bag.

Although it took a while to lick in, the Revs' team D looked good for most of the game. In the first bit where Sounders dominated, there were problems everywhere. Shuttleworth rarely looks that shaky.

While the width was good, the timing of the runs and crosses was all off. I suspect that will improve a lot as Kamara settles in.

Although he was again guilty of trying to force attacking plays that weren't there a couple times, Rowe was a beast on defense, and was a factor in the change in momentum that swung in favor of the Revs.

I saw and appreciated the graphic that said the Scotty C was 5th(?) in the league in passing percentage.

I would love to know what logic led JH to switch AF and LW. I have a feeling it had much more to do with Woodberry needing more structure than Farrell not cutting it at CB.

Femi is still learning. He's perfect for the super-sub role, and won't necessarily do as well when teams have the chance to figure him out.

Seattle with Dempsey and Valdez would have been a different proposition. As it was, I really liked their new kid Kovar.
