With the Revs management, it's a safe bet that they will do the maximum possible to maintain a profit from the least of expectations.
That's it. New goalposts next season.— Brian Bilello (@RevsPrez) October 23, 2016 And here we have it. The head of a franchise that has failed this season cracking jokes and making excuses as his team is in the throws of their death rattle. He should be pissed off. Furious.
That a tone deaf franchise has a tone deaf Team President? You know, I probably shouldn't be surprised, and yet, I am a little surprised at how brazen this is.
That was as dominant a performance as I've ever seen from this club. From the opening whistle, they kept their foot on the throttle. Of course, it's impossible not to have mixed feelings about that. But on the whole, I'm glad they didn't mail it in, as they so easily could have, knowing this game counted for nothing.
Our mistake seems to be that we find it inconceivable that the Revs FO truly, 100%, doesn't give a FF..... We're cynical, sure, but we're still too damn Vizzini for our own good.
Not surprising to me at all. Almost as brazen as the former media Relations person tweeting on how she found soccer to be "boring" and in the next tweet, exclaiming how great her new cookware set was. Sigh.
It was really really rough to listen to the excuses that PM and BF were making on the broadcast yesterday.
It's only going to get worse when the spin doctors start repeating the mantra that we only missed out on a playoff position due to goal difference. Yes, technically true, but, c'mon, who are we kidding...
I went sort of planning to boo for most of the match. The Revs then played their best match of the year and made it hard to boo. When I got home, I realized this was probably a good thing -- the boos would be intended for Bilello, Burns and Heaps, but would be taken to heart by the players. Liked the 11 more goals/10 more goals chant!
PHI hasn't won a game since Aug 27th, going 0-3 in October, and 0-2-2 in September. And we still couldn't catch them in the standings....
Amazing what happens when your coach acts like March-July games count in the standings. It seems like the revs only start to care/play hard (except 2015, when they pissed away a better playoff seed down the stretch) when the Pats preseason starts up. It's like the Krafts come out of their slumber and remember they have TWO football teams.
Kudos to the team for coming up with a great game in their last outing of the season. We were there and it was nice to see, regardless of who Montreal put out there. I get the Biello joke, the reply would be to go get some player that hit the back of the net rather than the crossbar/goal posts. Goalie was great, defense had it's moments - interesting to see Rowe at left defense, but he did well enough. I am a fan of Caldwell and I think he had a very strong game yesterday. I like the Aguedelo at withdrawn forward and pushing Lee higher up the pitch move -- gives us more strength and control in the midfield. Looking forward to what the Front Office does this offseason. Though, I'm not really counting on too much
Traveling right now so DVRd game. Any highlights of the excuses before I get home later in week and cringe myself?
Ha! I saw that in the highlights. They zoomed in so you couldn't see his lower half, but I was thinking, "Hey, is he twerking?"
Exactly what you'd expect. And being that it was a meaningless game, they talked a ton about the golden boot for the Revs.
