On Wednesday night in San Jose, the revs will look to reverse their recent struggles and begin the tough climb back into the playoff picture.

Kick off is at 10:30pm ET, CSNNE and radio on 98.5 the SportsHub.

San Jose are coming off a 2 1 home loss to Houston last Friday. They currently sit just below the red line in the West, with 31 points. They are 2-4-5 in their last 11 while the revs are 3-7-1. Goals are at a premium for both clubs, so the struggles are similar.

Since I'm going to the Bay Area on business this week, I'm going to the game. But guess, what? I'm not even excited about it. Thanks Krafts.

Based on recent trends, I think it'll be a draw. 1 1 seems about right.

    Same here );

I've never been this apathetic to the Revs visit before. Only happens once every two years, and I actually feel more annoyed that I have to get down to San Jose on a week night than I feel excited for the Revs being in town.

This game has the anticipatory zest of a chance to watch two pigs kissing.

With Woodberry suspended, our defensive lineup should be interesting if the two questionables can't play..

Can two of Herivaux, Barnes and Farrell possibly be worse than shipping 13 goals in 4 games? I guess it can always get worse.

    Sounds like Samba time!
Herivaux subbed in for the last minutes when JoGo came off - and stayed at CB. The kid is ultra-versatile - maybe this is where he first MLS start happens.

    Please, not Barnes.

I had forgotten about Samba. I wouldn't be against seeing Samba pair with Herivaux (fullbacks Tierney and Farrell). Two raw players with long-term upsides. Throw 'em in the fire, see what they can do.

Also, all tonight and done by the time the Revs play:

    Toronto at Orlando
    Philly at Columbus
    DC at Montreal

Depending on how these results go - the Revs could find themselves in 9th place and 5 points out of the last playoff spot before the SJ game even starts.

If Heaps can't motivate them - surely that should.

He was in for how long, maybe 90 seconds tops? He may have replaced one of the center backs, but he wasn't really "playing" that position when the Revs were trying to throw everything forward to make something happen. The Revs need help in the back line, but it may be premature to anoint Herivaux "the center back of the future" just yet.

    Probably see something like:
    .............................................Shuttleworth
    Farrell....................Barnes......................JoGo or Samba..............Tierney
    ..........................Caldwell....................Koffie
    Rowe or Teal.......................Lee..............................Diego
    ....................................Kamara

I'd prefer to see something like:
    .............................................Shuttleworth
    Farrell....................Barnes......................JoGo or Samba..............Tierney
    Rowe............................Koffie........Lee...................Diego
    ............................Agudello................Kamara
    or
    .............................................Shuttleworth
    Farrell....................Barnes......................JoGo or Samba..............Tierney
    ........................................Caldwell.........Koffie
    Juan.......................................Lee...............................Diego
    ....................................Kamara

Why would you start JoGo or Samba alongside Barnes? Why not JoGo and Samba, with Barnes on the bench?

    I think JoGo's hurt.

Also I kinda hope Knighton starts over Shuttleworth, but I might be in the minority on that thought.
