Well, it took a long, long, long, long time ... but we did make it in. So ... you know, there's that. Successful season all around, and promotions for everyone! On a more serious note, booked my flight last night. Anyone else going?
Read this link from MLS N&A ands you would think we have a slam dunk for Wednesday. Then why does it feel like such a trap game to me then.... https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/soccer-insider/wp/2015/10/25/d-c-united-ends-regular-season-with-a-thud-5-0/ C'mon Revs and Toronto - only team we can host the ECC against.
Wail, I expect that DC will bunker against us, since that always seems to work. We have been totally bereft of ideas when it comes to breaking this down. Still, I have more hope for this game than I would if we were playing at Columbus, Montreal or Toronto.
It looks like TSN in Canada and Unimas in the US, but the Unimas games I've watched have been in English this season, without having to use the SAP function on the remote. I think this also means its blacked out on MLSLIVE
Looks like it's tabbed for CSNNE's alternate channel. According to their site - http://www.csnne.com/new-england-revolution/revolution-open-playoffs-wednesday-dc
I can't really see DC bunkering at home - at least to start the game. Especially given their result against CLB. They are going to be pissed and come out flying. We gotta try to match that as well as not make any stupid mistakes early. If Kemp plays again he should be targeted. Bunbury or Rowe should be up for that. I think the best thing to come out of the NYCFC game was Jones starting to play a bit more like we're used to - that could be our X factor tomorrow. And even though we've been on a cold streak DC's run as of late has been way worse. Anything can happen tomorrow (because playoffs) but interesting stat from Goff's post - 6. Ended the regular season with a 2-6-1 record in the past nine matches (0-4-0 with one goal scored and 12 conceded against playoff teams). We are 5-3-1 over the past 9 matches. Go Revs!
It'll also keep the crowd down and make the field less predictable, neutralizing typical home field advantages.
The funny thing is that when I look at that roster, there's nothing about it that says to me that DC should be any better than the Philadelphias or Chicagoes of this world. I mean, who on that team is really scary? Chris Rolfe is about as scary as it gets (though there's always the chance of Espindola breaking someone's leg).
Armchair Analyst: Ranking the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoff teams, 1-through-12 October 27, 20152:00 PM EDT Matthew Doyle MLSsoccer.com That's pretty much how I see it. The Revs will get past DCU, but no further.
Leaving in a couple of hours to catch my flight to DC. Thunderstorms, 35 MPH winds and me. Can RFK survive?
Maybe it's just me, but when I picture the Revs away at RFK it involves a downpour and a sloppy field. It sounds like today's weather will be pretty fitting.
Funny you should say that, because that is exactly the image I have of a game at DC. We've been playing games there for 20 years and there must have been some in nice weather, but those conditions are always how I envision it.
darn: don't have UniMas and out here in WMass no alternate Comcast Sports Network channel (just the Celtics season opener). Does anyone know if there is radio coverage? Reliable stream?
