Nemeth: So good, you’d think there were two of him on the field.

Your lineup still works, you just had a little extra Nemeth....

Whether it is two Nemeths, or one each of Nemeth & Penilla, your "I would like to see" lineup looks to have a pure numerical advantage over the Colorado starting 11.

Which, I have to admit, is a very good way to hedge against that pesky early red card we are getting too used to seeing. : )

    -------------------------------
I agree with two forwards. The already-suspect defense is a moot point this week, can't do to much to lock it down any better given the lack of depth on the roster. "It is what it is" as a common saying goes. So, move on and bolster other parts of the game.

Instead, add firepower and get some goals as a way to put Rapids on their back foot.

For crap sake, Brad had Lee Nguyen and Krizstian Nemeth not seeing the field last week. There has to be a little bump to the offense available in that duo. Maybe that decision is worth giving a second look as you plan for this week's game, Brad?

    "My kingdom for a _____".

Josh Smith, or London Woodberry, or Watson, or Koffie - well, any of those would be a good part to have available this weekend.

A white, kinda fluffy dog, somewhat related to a husky. We need a dogged defender out there to hound the Rapids' forwards. As long as he isn't too aggressive and gets sent off for a DOGSO...

Colorado reads to me as one of the weakest teams in the league. Sjoberg, their best defender, seems to be suspended. And everyone knows Colorado can't play at sea level.

Really, if we can't beat these guys at home, we should just play in USL for the rest of the year.

    Folks,

This is the second game of the season and the level of negativity is already reaching mid-season form. Let's wait until June to give up on the season and demand Freidel be fired.

I don't think anyone is demanding Freidel to be fired just yet (except maybe RevsRule). But BF has a daunting task ahead of him.

    - Former team captain making $500K, doesn't want to be here, team doesn't trust him enough to include him in the 18.
    - $1M striker riding the pine and being shopped
    - 6 red cards in the last 5 road games
    - Highest paid keeper is currently 3rd string.
    - Tough matches vs NYC and @HOU up next. If they don't get points today, they could easily be looking at 0-4 record going into April.
    - A GM that many other MLS GMs don't like working with, according to the poll.

That is a lot for any coach to overcome, let alone a rookie coach. That doesn't mean he should be fired, but I think fans have valid reasons to be concerned about this club short term.

We really put the work in during preseason so we could come out of the gates firing on all cylinders. By the mid-summer swoon, we are going to be in missing-the-post-season form.

I don’t know what the result will be but Friedel is crazy if he thinks he has defensive depth.

That said, his confidence they will weather this may be well founded. All they have to do is show up. Results don’t matter to this ownership. It’s March; plenty of time left.

I did not see Lee's name as being on the bench and that is total crap. He obviously has no plan B if Diego is a bust as AM. Also Teal starting up top? Bahahaha

    Friedel is clueless

Nice goal for Diego. Zahibo and Penilla will help. Zahibo has been clean in front of the defense as well as quick with a decent pass forward. Penilla is very fast which will work well on the Gillette surface. That was a nice composed touch to give Fagundez an easy opportunity. As Paul M points out, a better left foot would be nice, but if he can stretch defenses that will be a big plus.

LED boards, looks Mr. Krafft spent some of his money on the team. I know how it feels the last time Mr. Hauptman spent any of his wife's money on our team it was getting LED boards.
