What a cheap shot on goal to ruin the stat sheet. Edit: speaking of, the Dynamo have a 92% passing completion rate. So sad.
"Furrowed brows all 'round" Fleming is probably the most consistent positive performer associated with the Rapids this season
Speaking of Fleming, this is a tough game for the announcers. I mean, what is there to say? Brutally bad and boring soccer, yet they can’t say that about their employer.
Definitely respect what Nicholson has done in this game. Keeps soldiering on no matter where he's put.
Woooooo-hoooooo!!! That's nine in a row. The Kroenke Line (PPG to win the Wooden Spoon based on an average of 26.85 points by the Wooden Spoon winner in the 34-game season era) currently sits at 0.90 PPG. The Rapids currently are at 0.62 PPG. A loss to Chicago on Wednesday would drop the Rapids to 0.57 PPG.
Too many mosquitos out tonight, so I decided to watch...not the Rapids. Because I am weak, and will watch the Rapids if I have nothing better to do, I have decided that I will watch a Schwarzenegger movie instead of a Rapids game when I need to stay strong. Tonight, I started off with Predator. That movie is just as good as when I first saw it in the theater, and knowing now that two of the actors in it became governors adds to it. It will become difficult at the end of the season when I am down to Junior and Kindergarten Cop, but I fully believe that those will still be more watchable than a Rapids game.
One would think they should draw one of the next couple home games, but with the way they're playing, they have a real shot at the record.
I'd say T2. But I watched a lot of Arnold movies, I like the cheesey ones, too. Commando and the 1st Conan the Barbarian are strong.
Dunno 'bout Schwarzenegger therapy. It isn't enough for this season. We're already deep into Plan 9 from Outer Space and Mars Needs Women territory.
Looks like the longest losing streaks in all competitions are FSL's 10 in league play in 2005 and then NE had 8 league losses and a USOC loss in 2014 and we have the same now. (During their 9 game league losing streak TFC got a draw in the Canadian championship, so they only went 8 in a row in all competitions) Other than some really bad CONCACAF play I doubt anyone lost 6-7 league games and 3-4 games in other competitions in a row.
Didn't think we could be worse than last year, but I was wrong. Glad I gave up my season tickets. Don't care for the coach and who he/they have brought in. We must be the only team in the league not looking at South American players.
Heh, I can remember during the Pareja years there were a lot of comments about relying too much on South American players.
I was at a Copa Libertadores match in April between U de Chile and Racing Club of Argentina. Saw a fantastic 20-year-old playing for "La U". Yeferson Solteldo, an incredibly skilled, fast, creative winger from Venezuela. Thought about the silly idea of emailing the Rapids about the opportunity to grab this little sparkplug (5'3" and 121 lbs.) before he ends up in Spain or elsewhere. Then I thinks to myself, why ruin a terrific young man with a bright future by dropping him into a black hole......
