I asked Jeff Lemieux about this. They're looking into if it might be the coldest for a MLS game ever.
What better than to host a team from FLORIDA for this one! The place where our normal spring weather (40-50 degrees) is their dead-of-winter don't even go outside weather. OK, so Cyle Larin is Canadian, so he probably does, in fact, own a coat, but the rest of those guys will be like the El Salvador NT who came out for warmups in short sleeves, but for the game itself, they were all wearing gloves, turtlenecks, long sleeves, bike shorts, etc. And it was only in the high 30s that day!
Nothing will every compare to the Snow Game! I believe that was a playoff game possibly against Columbus? I remember about 60 people at the Riders tailgate trying to get under two small 10x10 popups along with a few grills. Then going in and seeing probably less than 1000 people there. I recall getting free hot chocolate all game
it was against metrostars if we're thinking about the same snow game. the jeff agoos blatant handball that wasn't called. the Khano moment of magic.
may have been. I remember getting on the Pike at Springfield and by the time we hit Auburn we had about a 25 yard viability
I think that was around Halloween, or at least I remember Prairie having carved a ton of pumpkins with very lifelike renderings of every player on the roster, plus Mariner, Nicol and one with a Revs logo! Amazing work! There was a dusting of snow on the ground, and it was certainly colder for the time of year, but nothing like what we expect for Saturday. Roit, mate. Ye caaaan't havva proppa footbaw league if you play in the summer! That's a load of bollocks!
My buddy was down getting hot chocolate when Khano scored - we still remind him That game was a lot of fun, weather be damned. It was even better coming against a NY team.
Just to show that it's not just early Spring or late Fall where the weather is dangerous--the "Hypothermia Bowl" on Mothers Day against Tampa Bay--we won 4-3 against Musa Shannons hat trick, We started out with about 16,000 at kickoff and at half time were down to about 4500 hearty Yankees.

The revs just announced that the game has been postponed. Moved to September 2 at 7:00 https://www.revolutionsoccer.net/post/2017/03/10/revolution-s-match-vs-orlando-city-sc-postponed
Changed the title. Also, the rescheduled game is the day after a US WCQ at home. We're going to lose some fans for that one.
So much for homefield advantage, at least weather-wise. Just tell him to move the wedding to Foxboro. I'm sure the CBS Sports Scene would be a lovely venue.
NCAA has cancelled outdoor sporting events in the area for Saturday and a major youth and college showcase soccer tournament in the area for the weekend has also been cancelled.
Revs will now play 7 games in the month of September, including both matches with ORL and both matches with ATL.
Did you guys get an email about this rescheduling? I saw it posted all over but I expected they would send emails to the season ticket holders.
They should've had it scheduled the other way around, so the Orlando side of the tie was this weekend, and the Revs side was in September.
Let's be optimistic. If we make the USOC Finals, that'll probably be 8 games in September. I can hear the fixture congestion excuses now!
I think it's the snow. It would be pretty difficult (and expensive) to get the stadium, field and lots cleared in less than 24 hours for a one-off (since it will be long-melted by the next home game). Maybe the snow won't amount to much, but there's a decent chance it will. And, the low unemployment (and fear in the undocumented community) would make it pretty tough to get contract workers on the weekend.
