If there was still something to play for I'd fire myself from starting game threads after the RSL debacle, but this one is just to spoil Montreal's fun. With a Columbus loss (at home to Minnesota) and a Montreal win, the Impact can leapfrog the crew into the playoffs. Highly unlikely but that's the scenario we're looking at on Decision Day. The revs are there to complete the schedule, salute the fans and take this season behind the woodshed at last. The weather isn't looking good for this one, with rain expected along with a nice wind whipping through. Kudos to anyone going; I donated my tickets to charity. With Friedel's comments about lack of effort after the RSL match I would expect him to make some changes, though it's tough to predict who starts and sits.
My uncles memorial service is being held on Wildcat Saturday. He ran the Ski Patrol there for many years
Might be the last time for Diego on the revs: Hoy disfruta el partido@Diego Fagúndez que puede ser el último aquí en este Club y en este Estadio con estos gran Fans— WFagundez (@WFagundez) October 28, 2018
If Brad sends Fagundez packing, then his embrace of "Blackburn!" is almost complete......... This is so thrilling.
I wonder if the translation just means Final game of season? Herivaux at right back. No caldwell. Turner back in goal. I’m not there but crowd looks reflective of th level of th team’s performance. Horrible. Penilla wins MVP of team. Well deserved.
Rev Players I don’t want to see - at all - next year because the multi year experiment should just be over: Juan Agudelo Teal Bunbury Andrew Farrell Herivaux Hollinger-Jansen KelynRowe Somi and Dielna are going, obviously And of what is left, only Fagundez, Penilla, _maybe_ Mancienne, and Turner are starting quality.
We're back to ground zero... and this time we have no illusions of anything but a very bleak future. Call me when we can party like 2099.
I generally agree. I have a 4 tiered rating system for players: 1) guys im happy to see start 2) guys i want to see upgraded, but would be glad to have on the bench 3) guys who i dont care for, but i guess are fine to keep around 4) guys who I would offer to drive to the airport if it meant getting them off the revs quicker. The only guys beyond Turner, Caicedo, and Penilla who might have a claim to tier 1 are Diego and Delamea, and both have been inconsistent enough that its a hard sell. Everyone else is somewhere below that, with Zahibo, Somi, and Juan being the players I'm most excited to see leave
Three predictions. Three easy easy predictions. [1] Neither Friedel nor Burns will accept any personal responsibility for this season. [2] The roster Brad will start with in Spring will be significantly less talented than the one Brad inherited from Heaps. [3] Next year we will play a painfully physical, hoofy, kicky, running around sorry excuse for a "style".
Friedel in post game. Of the draws I think we should have won x and thus would have been in playoffs. Yep, we can all dream with you Brad. Friedel on the Clock BIG TIME
Brad doesn't inspire much confidence in his willingness, or ability, to face reality with an honest eye.
Well the season's over finally. My thoughts at this point about the Revs next year are: 1) I don't believe we will sign any significant players during the off season 2) We will start weaker than we are right now 3) A good number of players there now, won't be there when camp opens 4) My fear is that some that are good ones will be included in the absent mix 5) Friedel doesnt impress me. Little to no improvement over Heaps finally 6) Burns sucks and Lee was smart to bail out. This is a sinking ship under Burns If Rowe and Juan had any smarts, they'd do the same thing. I know Juan is out of contract... I like him and dont want him gone but hope for his sake, he moves on.
Yeah, and if it wasn't for the games we lost, we would be undefeated! And if, for some ridiculous, mind-twisting rationale you could come up with, had we won a few more games and managed to sneak into that last spot, so what? We would just be one-and-done with a playoff loss to a better team. Would that really be considered a "successful" season? Not for me, and not for most of us, but it would be for the only people whose opinions matter.
Seriously? The Revs finished 9 points behind Philly for the last playoff spot. Since Philly spanked them all 3 times head to head, that means they would have had to win five of their eleven ties to makeup 10 points.
