P/I/P June opener, Rapids host Whitecaps, Friday, June 1

I've been channeling Anthony Hudson's brainwaves for the past 12 hours.

McBean gets the start and the coach's MOTM honor before kickoff.
Wynne gets the captain's armband for his steadfast "leadership" in every minute of every match of 2018.
Colvey comes in for Boli after 30 minutes as a super-sub.

Also of note. Hudson's already rehearsing for his post-game presser tonight and currently debating if he should go conservative and stick with "We're better than this record shows" or go balls-out and pull out the classic "We're turning a corner!" (his infamous last words before getting shitcanned by Newport County after he failed miserably in the first 12 games of their 2011 season... his last/only non-USL club coaching experience).

This is the Rapids' 12th game of the 2018 campaign.

On the right in the midfield, or as the wingback?

With all the problems they've been having replacing Hairston, I was wondering if Nicholson could play right wingback. Or Enzo, since he seems tireless.

 

Looking for silver linings, Sjoberg is the best 4th or 5th centerback the Rapids have had since I've been following them.

 

But at least its a dry humidity.

Should be able to handle another sea level team at altitude just like we did with Portland -- or at least that is where my somewhat informed expectations are ...

"Turned a corner" (wrong direction onto a one-way street) -- Police scanner: "Dumpster on fire struck by truck" -- tragic but people still watch.

 

Since 2010. Usually the #4 is a Scott Palguta type. Then again, usually if the Rapids have good players, they start.

 

So pre-"Rapids Way" thinking.

 

One thing I love about this site--the worse they play, the funnier it gets.

Tell me again why Boateng played so many games at wingback?

Soooooo....after the backline gets totally exposed for seemingly the 109th time this season, at what point is the 3-5-2 no longer working?

 

Thought I'd give this game a look. Well, I made it 20 minutes.

Just like last season, we stink at corners. Price's service is hit-or-miss. Gashi's service is good but nobody ever seems to get on the end of any of the balls coming in.

 

It's never worked so I think they are going to stick with it until it works.
